Our goal is to make customers feel independent and safe in the comfort of their own homes at every stage of life. Through our innovative walk-in tub designs, we strive to improve the quality of life for our customers by providing an accessible, secure way for people to bathe. In addition to our unique therapeutic features, every American Standard walk-in tub includes safety and functionality benefits to fit the needs of people with limited mobility.

We created this beautiful accessible bathroom in Carlsbad to give our client a more functional space. We designed this unique bath, specific to the client's specifications to make it more wheel chair accessible. Features such as the roll in shower, roll up vanity and the ability to use her chair for flexibility over the fixed wall mounted seat allow her to be more independent in this bathroom. Safety was another significant factor for the room. We added support bars in all areas and with maximum flexibility to allow the client to perform all bathing functions independently, and all were positioned after carefully recreating her movements. We met the objectives of functionality and safety without compromising beauty in this aging in place bathroom. Travertine-look porcelain tile was used in a large format on the shower walls to minimize grout lines and maximize ease of maintenance. A crema marfil marble mosaic in an elongated hex pattern was used in the shower room for it’s beauty and flexibility in sloped shower. A custom cabinet was made to the height ideal for our client’s use of the sink and a protective panel placed over the pea trap.

The original bathroom was cramped with a tub that the homeowner never used and a hard to get to walk in shower. Virtuoso completely gutted the bathroom and expanded the overall size by borrowing space from the master bedroom. This created a lot of movable space and a much larger walk-in shower

The original 48" cased opening that led into the bathroom took up too much wall space and was pulled away from the left wall to provide a straight approach to the new vanity. Since the interior bathroom door was removed, a new pocket door was installed to gain access and privacy to the bathroom for the toilet and shower while not reducing any wall space for furniture.

Master ensuite features a black vanity with modern brushed gold pulls, white quartz counter top, brushed gold faucets, aged gold brass wall sconces, black framed rectangular mirrors against a ceramic tile wood design wall.

New build dreams always require a clear design vision and this 3,650 sf home exemplifies that. Our clients desired a stylish, modern aesthetic with timeless elements to create balance throughout their home. With our clients intention in mind, we achieved an open concept floor plan complimented by an eye-catching open riser staircase. Custom designed features are showcased throughout, combined with glass and stone elements, subtle wood tones, and hand selected finishes. The entire home was designed with purpose and styled with carefully curated furnishings and decor that ties these complimenting elements together to achieve the end goal. At Avid Interior Design, our goal is to always take a highly conscious, detailed approach with our clients. With that focus for our Altadore project, we were able to create the desirable balance between timeless and modern, to make one more dream come true.

The master bedroom entrance from the hallway was moved away from the left corner (behind the picture) into a clear area away from furniture placement. A wider pocket door. was used for entry which did not conflict with furniture placement and provided a better approach. DT

This home was designed to be the forever home for a retired couple. Their objectives were to have enough space for the entire family, and to have an energy efficient home that was low maintenance for retirement. The build was successful all around. They enjoy main floor living for all critical functions - and the home has geothermal heat pump and upgraded insulation throughout, leaving them with just $550/year in annual energy bills.
