The new master bedroom and bathroom were re-located to the main floor of this midcentury beauty. This bathroom has matched vanities flanking the free standing tub. Both open shelving and closed storage create a balance of spa feel and utility that is desired in master bathrooms. The high contrast of custom expresso cabinets and white surfaces is key.

Even with the best of planning, decisions on finishings can lead to changes along the way. In this case, the client's decision on sconces reduced the center area allowed for a stack on the vanity so the design was changed to omit the stack.
Adding insets can be a great decorating decision and serve as functional areas to display beauty products. Repurposed barn wood was used to build shelves in the bathroom's insets.

A transition that goes from hardwood to tile from the master bedroom to the bath. Flexible grout was used instead of a T-molding for a cleaner appearance.

This bathroom remodel was completed in Loganville, GA for Robert and Elaine. The homeowners wanted to keep their existing vanity cabinets, while changing the style to a more transitional look. The use of soft beige/greige colors really brightened up this bathroom, and the seamless glass shower really opens up the space.

"We joke that our style is the Bryan and Catherine Mashup because it really is a compromise of both of our styles,' explains Catherine. "If Bryan were to do a house and I were to do a house, they would likely come out different."
Gutted and completely redesigned, the bathroom is a perfect compromise between Bryan and Catherine's seemingly opposite design preferences. "I would say my style is more eclectic," Catherine explains. "I like curvy lines whereas Bryan likes things straight and sleek and clean."
By keeping the color scheme consistent throughout the space, the elements work together seamlessly. Plain square tiles exude a vintage vibe when offset into a subway pattern and set against dark grout, while stainless penny tiles and open storage lend an industrial quality to the room. The addition of a chandelier and flowy shower curtains soften the space, exemplifying the definition of their style.

More and more clients are asking about enlarging their shower and removing the master bathtub. The new design accommodates a spacious shower and a L-shaped bench seat that conceals a plumbing pipe that would have been cost prohibitive to move. The Delta Dryden shower fixture collection includes a hand-held shower head on an adjustable bar that makes rinsing off and cleaning the shower that much easier. photo by Myndi Pressly

Perched above the beautiful Delaware River in the historic village of New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania sits this magnificent custom home designed by OMNIA Group Architects. According to Partner, Brian Mann,"This riverside property required a nuanced approach so that it could at once be both a part of this eclectic village streetscape and take advantage of the spectacular waterfront setting." Further complicating the study, the lot was narrow, it resides in the floodplain and the program required the Master Suite to be on the main level. To meet these demands, OMNIA dispensed with conventional historicist styles and created an open plan blended with traditional forms punctuated by vast rows of glass windows and doors to bring in the panoramic views of Lambertville, the bridge, the wooded opposite bank and the river. Mann adds, "Because I too live along the river, I have a special respect for its ever changing beauty - and I appreciate that riverfront structures have a responsibility to enhance the views from those on the water." Hence the riverside facade is as beautiful as the street facade. A sweeping front porch integrates the entry with the vibrant pedestrian streetscape. Low garden walls enclose a beautifully landscaped courtyard defining private space without turning its back on the street. Once inside, the natural setting explodes into view across the back of each of the main living spaces. For a home with so few walls, spaces feel surprisingly intimate and well defined. The foyer is elegant and features a free flowing curved stair that rises in a turret like enclosure dotted with windows that follow the ascending stairs like a sculpture. "Using changes in ceiling height, finish materials and lighting, we were able to define spaces without boxing spaces in" says Mann adding, "the dynamic horizontality of the river is echoed along the axis of the living space; the natural movement from kitchen to dining to living rooms following the current of the river." Service elements are concentrated along the front to create a visual and noise barrier from the street and buttress a calm hall that leads to the Master Suite. The master bedroom shares the views of the river, while the bath and closet program are set up for pure luxuriating. The second floor features a common loft area with a large balcony overlooking the water. Two children's suites flank the loft - each with their own exquisitely crafted baths and closets. Continuing the balance between street and river, an open air bell-tower sits above the entry porch to bring life and light to the street. Outdoor living was part of the program from the start. A covered porch with outdoor kitchen and dining and lounge area and a fireplace brings 3-season living to the river. And a lovely curved patio lounge surrounded by grand landscaping by LDG finishes the experience. OMNIA was able to bring their design talents to the finish materials too including cabinetry, lighting, fixtures, colors and furniture.

Our client on this project requested a spa-like feel where they could rejuvenate after a hard day at work.
The big change that made all the difference was removing the walled-off shower. This change greatly opened up the space, although in removing the wall we had to reroute electrical and plumbing lines. The work was well worth the effect. By installing a freestanding tub in the corner, we further opened up the space. The accenting tiles behind the tub and in the shower, very nicely connected the space. Plus, the shower floor is a natural pebble stone that lightly massages your feet.
The His and Her vanities were truly customized to their specific needs. For example, we built plenty of storage on the Her side for her personal needs. The cabinets were custom built including hand mixing the paint color.
The Taj Mahal countertops and marble shower along with the polished nickel fixtures provide a luxurious and elegant feel.
This was a fun project that rejuvenated our client's bathroom and is now allowing them to rejuvenate after a long day.
