One Hyde Park in London is an architectural phenomenon and residential complex whose beauty, luxury and service merge in an exclusive way - making it one of the wealthiest and most secretive residential apartment buildings in the world. The 90 apartments in the building are finished with WOCA High Solid Master Oil with Patina Discs. Roughly half of the floors in the exclusive apartments are engineered natural oak wood and the other half are deep fired oak wood.

Our clients love watching TV in bed, so we built them this contemporary, upholstered macassar ebony bed with the TV and sound system built into the headboard! The project combines dark wood furniture with soft blue textiles and a luminous layered ceiling. An oversized upholstered headboard, quilted bedding, striped drapery, a pale patterned chair and ottoman, indoor tree, translucent-disc chandelier, and an integrated television cabinet at the foot of the bed. Warm cove lighting frames the reflective ceiling panel, while multiple glazed doors fill the spacious suite with daylight and outdoor views.

In our Contemporary Bellevue Residence we wanted the aesthetic to be clean and bright. This is a similar plan to our Victoria Crest home with a few changes and different design elements. Designed by Akram Aljahmi of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Woodbridge, VA this dated kitchen was opened up and transformed into a stunning white traditional kitchen. Featuring Merillat Masterpiece Townley Cathedral cabinets in Maple with a Canvas with Cocoa Glaze finish and topped with granite countertops in the color Blue Flowers, this new layout opens up the space for everything. This vast open master bath is about 300 sq. in size. This color combination of Black, gold and light marble is a traditional color scheme that received a modern interpretation by us. The cabinets are original to the house and were refinished and re-glazed, a new absolute black granite counter top was placed and new vessel sinks and waterfall faucets were installed. the golden pendents lights matching the gold scheme of the bathroom. the black mosaic tile are used for the step to the tub, shower pan and the vertical and shampoo niche accent tiles have a combo of black glass and stone tile with a high gloss almost metallic finish. it boasts a large shower with frame-less glass and a great spa area with a drop-in Jacuzzi tub. the large windows bring a vast amount of natural light that allowed us to really take advantage of the black colors tile and tub. The floor tile (ceramic 24"x24 mimicking marble) are placed in a diamond pattern with black accents (4"x4" granite). and the matching staggered placed tile (18"x12") on the walls. An electrical outlet was incorporated into a top drawer in the island. A charging drawer provides a great central spot for the family to charge their phones, tablets, and extra batteries.

The kitchen, butler’s pantry, and laundry room uses Arbor Mills cabinetry and quartz counter tops. Wide plank flooring is installed to bring in an early world feel. Encaustic tiles and black iron hardware were used throughout. The butler’s pantry has polished brass latches and cup pulls which shine brightly on black painted cabinets. Across from the laundry room the fully custom mudroom wall was built around a salvaged 4” thick seat stained to match the laundry room cabinets.

The client moved into this space with a pair of high-end speakers he had from his last house. The built-ins were already there in his new family room. No other speaker which could fit on those shelves was going to be any better, or even as good, as the speakers he already owned--not without spending many thousands of dollars. It made sense to modify the built-ins to better fit the existing speakers. This photo shows the built-ins after that modification. Another photo shows the speaker and the shelves before the modification. An upgradeable TV and audio system, commensurate in quality to the speakers, was provided by DH Audio and Home Theater. The system is upgradeable by both software updates and by virtue of its NAD Master Series surround sound processor which uses a design much like a PC tower with its removable card slots. New technologies (4k video, MQA) have already come along since the introduction of this surround processor for which the owner can buy and or upgrade the removable cards. This cabinet is also the heart of a Bluesound wireless and expandable multi-room music system that the customer favored for its superior sound quality (e.g. over Sonos). Ease-of-use was also a must, so DH Audio & Home Theater custom programmed a remote so that one button press is all that's required to call up Fios HD TV, Netflix, Blu-ray discs, family photos and video, or music.
