This primary bathroom was unfortunately damaged from a busted pipe and ruined the existing bathroom but this was an opportunity for my clients to reconfigure the space to fit there lifestyle better. We kept the vanity footprint but built/designed new custom cabinets with all drawers to get ample storage out if it. The original shower was tiny for how large this bathroom was. In the existing shower area we have now a large storage closet with motion light when you open the doors. We finished it off the same as the vanity cabinets to break up the wall of doors. These homeowners rarely used theirlarge tub and we felt the space was better served for a large shower, so we did just that. a dual shower equipped with a bench, hand sprayer and hidden niche for all the products in reach but out of sight. The floor in here was still carpet if you can believe so of course that was replaced with a large format 24x48" porcelain tile that is low maintenance and has a soft natural look. I was so happy to hear when these homeowners were not scared of color and really wanted wallpaper as well! We don't have a ton of wall space but what we did we wanted it to feel relaxing so we did an abstract paper in soft blues, greens, creams and whites to tie all the material selections together. They had existing sink faucets they loved and wanted to use again so we incorporated those in with a two-tone metal hardware. Black and gold made a perfect pair.

"Magical Dreamer", 36 x 36, commission. I was honored with not only a request, but with a bestowing upon me to bring to canvas an enchanted moment. The sharing between father and daughter had been captured a number of years before. A series of the most extraordinary glimpses into the mirthful glee as she skips across the sand at waters edge. All the more charming as she simply refuses to peer at the lens... one can almost hear the giggles burble forth...

Philharmonic Design House - 2014, The Strands in Dana Point, CA Master Bedroom, Venetian Plastered Ceiling in "Papyrus" texture Dana Point, CA Interior Designer, Beth Whitlinger, www.bwid.com When the Interior Designer described the wall covering as being a silver leafed pattern along with oodles of sumptuous natural fiber fabrics on the bedding, chairs, and window treatments, this plaster finish came to mind as being the perfect invention of richness and texture to be in relationship with the rhythm of natural linens and silks in this significant House of Design space. The color was chosen to coordinate with the natural stone of the fireplace, the glint and gleam of the burnished cross-hatched Venetian Plaster was meant to support the bling Beth brought into this room through the chandelier and the headboard wall and other more subtle details. This ceiling finish, so I was told by one of the docents, was one of the top three talked about topics of this magnificent space. I was glad to hear, as this was a finish designed and mixed up in my artist's workshop with the confidence it would do the trick. The overall design was impeccable as delivered by the very talented Beth Whitlinger. I sincerely hope to perform this finish again and again. It is quite remarkably unique as well as a beautiful backdrop to rich decor.
