This master bedroom needed privacy. We made a pair of panels to draw from the center for the large window to the left of the club chair. We made a whole panel for each window to the right -one drawing to the left, one drawing to the right. The treatment was mounted on a double rod, which gave the client the option of only opening the top panel. The bed was placed between the two windows, which created symmetry.

This master bathroom was a such a pleasure to design. The split level marble vanity adds depth and character to the space. Polished nickel hardware keeps the space feeling classic along with the polished nickel drawer handles. Crystal knobs add a splash of elegance alone with the beaded oval nickel bathroom mirrors. The polished nickel wall sconces feel like they where original to the house. Subway tile was used in the shower and the face of the bathtub to keep with historical design elements of this 1906 beauty.

Bedding is a great place to play with texture. We started with a Victorian inspired custom-made wrought iron bed and finished it in brushed cream. Next we found soft prewashed linen in a sophisticated beige for the duvet and added a grey pleated bed skirt. We started with a tranquil color on the walls. The bed is topped with a luxuriously soft and cozy faux fur throw blanket.

The design goals for this master bedroom centered on creating a sophisticated retreat for the homeowner. Soft grays and rich textures were selected to create a sense of warmth and depth in the space. The feature wall behind the bed is wrapped in a Philip Jeffries Leo Luxe Linen which shimmers in the natural light. A mirrored storage chest, luxurious Madeline Weinrib area rug and light filtering window sheers add a sense of softness and romance to the room. The ikat upholstered lounge chair and ottoman offer a place to curl up and read or to enjoy the wall mounted television. The homeowners passion for all things John Robshaw inspired the unique collection of block printed Robshaw fabrics in crisp white wall frames. The combination of warm colors, rich textures and unique artwork create a sophisticated chic bedroom retreat that welcomes the homeowner at the end of each day! And the French provincial screen in the powder blue and yellow floral fabric brings a whimsical touch that adds an extra piece of design to the space.
