Home Bar Design Pendants by Dounia Home, Mishal Silver Ball PendantBarstools by Canadel, Custom Dining Stools This 15,000 square foot home is a ground up classic Mediterranean Villa in Los Altos Hills, designed with a nod to a more elevated contemporary interior design. Our client is a High Level VC who hoped to limit time away from his young family. The scope of the project was to design a family-friendly home, while including all of the high style and high-tech amenities and conveniences expected in a Silicon Valley estate. Designing with these requirements in mind, our team created functional spaces for family life while maintaining business requirements in one space. This balance between comfort and professionalism was implemented through masterful layout and design including a private gathering room that can host up to 100 guests, which was intentionally designed to entertain business meetings, lessening the need for travel, and allowing for a more balanced lifestyle. Other features include a Screening Room, Bar and Wine Tasting Area, Private Library and Executive office, and Grand Dining Room.

The "main room" in the apartment had to serve multiple functions - a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, as well as a place to store items like our client's bicycle. Because space was tight, we used a small bistro table so that our client could sit with one other person (or more by pulling up other chairs) and enjoy a meal. By using a wall mounted bike rack that also incorporated some storage for his helmet + lock, we were able to save some space, and love the way that it highlights our client's graffiti art purchased on the streets of NYC! When our clients set out to reimagine their traditional-leaning home in Menlo Park, they sought a transformation that would honor its classic character while embracing a fresh, modern sensibility. The kitchen features dark, streamlined cabinetry paired with crisp white quartz countertops, echoing the original modernist spirit of Sea Ranch with a contemporary edge. The home is fully electric, including appliances, water heater, and room heaters. Core-Tec flooring with cork backing enhances energy efficiency and sound quality. Fisher & Paykel electric appliances and double-insulated windows and doors are used throughout.

Inspiration for a small transitional medium tone wood floor hallway remodel in Seattle with multicolored walls

We identified the client's desire for easy-to-maintain materials and dynamic contrasts. Porcelain slabs for the shower walls, vanity tops, and vanity walls, created a beautiful, elegant backdrop for the textured and dynamic contrast of black marble Chevron tile on the floors throughout. In keeping with the high gloss look, we specified Italian Laminate metallic cabinetry over slab doors with a hint of color to continue the luxury look. Finishing off with large-scale Illuminated mirrors and crystal light fixtures, this client's master bath suite exceeded their expectations and desires!

What does a designer do if you have client who loves color, loves mid-century, loves to cook and has a busy home life.....MAKE AN AMAZING KITCHEN~ Featuring Signature Custom Cabinetry in 4 colors, doors with mirror inserts, doors with metal union jack inserts, walnut trim, shelves, and wood top, custom color Blue Star french door ovens and custom Heath oval tile~ To add a little extra geometry to the floors, we took a standard 24" square tile and cut half of them into triangles and designed the floor to show the additional texture!
