A small, outdated townhouse kitchen transformation by Curtis Lumber Co., Inc. provides the homeowner with the dream kitchen she desired: a space that reflects her personal style, more storage and a comfortable space for entertaining during the holidays. The black cabinets with the grey glass tile, make the kitchen look contemporary and sleek. Selecting a different cabinet color and depth in the bar/dining area allows the space to feel separate from the kitchen, although they share the same countertop. By adding the glass cabinets and glass backsplash, light is reflected making the space feel larger and brighter. The cabinetry is Wellborn Premier - Door Style: Saybrook; Wood Species: MDF. The kitchen features European frameless MDF slab panel doors with special edging and maple plywood interiors. They are competed with a high gloss white finish and integrated valance lighting on all upper cabinets. They also include fully adjustable shelving and recessed toe kicks on all base cabinets. The upper doors feature a high polish metal finish and custom grill work. The counter tops are Pure White Caesarstone. The kitchen also includes a KWC pullout Livello faucet and a Blanco Radius sink. The hardwood flooring is European White Oak engineered Hakwood.

Light and airy, these homeowners desired to bring a feel of the Mediterranean to their Texas kitchen. The inspiration was a fusion of various design elements from the countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea, including Spain, Italy, Greece, and Morocco, driving Designer Amber Paulk to use Wood-Mode’s Vanguard MDF and Vista Laminate door styles with a White Halifax Oak High Pressure Laminate for the cabinetry, giving the look and feel of olive wood. Not wanting to detract from the cabinetry’s natural beauty, hardware with clear handles were selected. The open plan design of the space means the homeowners can comfortably entertain guests while they prepare in the kitchen. Wanting as much storage as possible, the large island houses the microwave, dishwasher and many other appliances and entertaining musts like refrigeration drawers with custom cabinet panels and organizational details like Birch cutlery dividers. A statement chandelier was installed above, finishing off the design.
