Our friends at Elite Flooring were all over this challenging flooring project. This old girl had settled quite a bit and we had to replace over 300 sf of flooring. The existing floor was mounted to tapered "ribs" to correct for the settling of the structure. At that point, it became more like boat building than home remodeling in that each support piece had to be custom fitted. We also selected Rubio Monocoat finish because unlike conventional stain/urethane finishes, it can be revived and maintained with an application of their maintenance oil. This means that with a minor attention to maintenance, you will likely never have to refinish the floors again. I don't know about you but I can't think of a time when it's convenient to move all your furniture out of the house...
