In a suburb less than 3 miles from Manhattan an old house underwent a major facelift. I had a good fortune of being invited to participate on the garden design and installation. In the front a simple corten steel frame lifts an arrangement of Carex Pensilvanica, that will mature into a lawn that will not need mowing. Playful clusters of Boxwoods add structure and winter interest.

A modest size shady backyard was redesigned to accommodate the needs of a young family with two kids.The garden was to be predominantly used a playground. A small deck was installed around the Chestnut tree to provide a sitting space that was a proper sale for the younger members of the family.

The new landscaping project focuses on reworking drainage, adding kid-friendly features, and installing a grating deck for natural light in the basement.

Nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this blank slate terrace has undergone a captivating transformation, becoming an urban oasis that effortlessly blends functionality and style. A sleek clear cedar fence encloses the space, offering both child safety and a touch of natural allure. This isn't just your run-of-the-mill terrace; it's a lively haven that caters to both relaxation and entertainment. The installation boasts a thoughtfully designed kitchen area, ready to whip up culinary delights while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Williamsburg. Raised planters brim with greenery, their vibrant foliage breathing life into the space. With a smart irrigation system in place, maintaining this flourishing garden is a breeze. As the sun sets, the terrace gracefully transitions into a cozy haven, thanks to strategically placed lighting that casts a warm glow. And let's not forget the pièce de résistance – an outdoor shower, allowing you to wash off the city's hustle and bustle under the open sky. This terrace is more than just a landscaping project; it's an embodiment of the Williamsburg spirit, where gardening meets urban chic.

A rooftop garden installation on top of a garage can be a beautiful addition to any urban space. Using a mix of planters and perennials, the installation was designed to incorporate both edible and non-edible plants. Mixing vegetables and herbs with perennial flowers and shrubs created a lush and diverse garden that is not only visually appealing but also productive. The garden is arranged in a way that maximizes space while also providing enough room for each plant to grow and flourish. With minimal care and attention, a rooftop garden will provide fresh produce and a serene environment for years to come.
