Arched barrels faux painted with gold & bronze metallic paint between 4 faux marble painted fluted columns separate the entry way and the formal dining room & sitting room.

These images show the development of a trompe l'oeil wine cellar project from a rather bland, cold space to a rich, warm and inviting environment with numerous trompe l'oeil features. Even the ceiling is painted with a subtle, polished mural of ghostly wine labels. This was an extensive, highly detailed project taking over a month to complete.

A colorful farmyard was the theme for this little boy’s nursery. The trompe l’oeil mural painted on all four walls and the ceiling was designed to be visually stimulating but pastoral and calming as well. Light fluffy clouds hang in the clear blue sky, while various friendly farm animals roam the idyllic countryside and reside in the barn. The furniture was not only selected for its color palate but also to grow with the child.

Trompe l'oeil marble can be added to areas where it is either impractical or too costly to install real marble.

A trompe l’oeil window visually enlarges the space of this small bathroom. Setting the window in a softly-glazed wall with a contrasting, pin-striped border, completed the Tuscan look that the owners were strongly drawn to and wanted integrated into the work. The simple Mediterranean scene out the shuttered window instills a sense of tranquility. Painted in oils, the decorative painting is impervious to moisture in both kitchens and baths. This mural is at the bottom of the steps which bring you to the whole-house-wide patio room facing the Chesapeake Bay. A curious seagull seems to have taken up residence on the pilings.
