Inspiration for a coastal staircase remodel in Milwaukee

Melanie Roy’s challenge in designing an extremely functional mud room to accommodate a busy family’s needs was to create a place for everything from crab nets and straw mats in metal buckets to beach towels, flip flops, balls and various summer paraphernalia in wire baskets. The challenge was that the room had no cubbies so boat cleats were used for hanging items up and out of the way and baskets and buckets for easy-access storage under a rough-hewn table. She created a beach theme by anchoring the space with a Stark rug with a wave design. Artists’ rendered surfboards are decorative but often accompany surfboards that are constantly in use. A window seat/bench is upholstered in a waterproof Duralee fabric, piped with jute, so you can sit on it even in a wet bathing suit. Saints Johns Tower is a unique and elegant custom designed home. Located on a peninsula on Ono Island, this home has views to die for. The tower element gives you the feeling of being encased by the water with windows allowing you to see out from every angle. This home was built by Phillip Vlahos custom home builders and designed by Bob Chatham custom home designs.

You wont have to travel the four corners of the earth to find the Marina medallion marble mosaic. Showcasing a nautical compass center in dark blue and pale pink the design invites a Greco-Roman flavor with Greek keys and wave motifs. The 24" x 24" size is ideal for a table top or order a custom size to craft a beautiful decorative tile floor with a fun maritime theme.

This light and airy space was created with natural and organic design elements. The burlap drum shade is extra large in size and makes a subtle statement when hung high above the table.
