A full frontal view of the mill work displays a continuation of the tile mosaic, but notice the very small pattern of mosaic above the 4" red tiles in the back splash - they are a mini-version of the 1" tile mosaic that traverses the wall of tub and shower opposite. This second floor apartment was renovated and incorporated into a Master Suite for the home. By removing the exterior entryway, the living space increased to allow this spectacular master bath. The white bead board detail frames the white oval clawfoot tub and clear glass shower enclosure keeps the site lines clean and simple.

We re-roofed this hail damaged roof in Fort Collins with GAF Timberline HD Ultra shingles. The Ultra shingles are a thicker shingle than the standard Timberline HD shingles. The color the customer chose is Barkwood. We also installed GAF Cobra Ridge Vent and GAF Intake Pro to increase the attic ventilation on this house. Next summer the customer should notice a nice difference when outside temperatures rise.

After many years of careful consideration and planning, these clients came to us with the goal of restoring this home’s original Victorian charm while also increasing its livability and efficiency. From preserving the original built-in cabinetry and fir flooring, to adding a new dormer for the contemporary master bathroom, careful measures were taken to strike this balance between historic preservation and modern upgrading. Behind the home’s new exterior claddings, meticulously designed to preserve its Victorian aesthetic, the shell was air sealed and fitted with a vented rainscreen to increase energy efficiency and durability. With careful attention paid to the relationship between natural light and finished surfaces, the once dark kitchen was re-imagined into a cheerful space that welcomes morning conversation shared over pots of coffee. Every inch of this historical home was thoughtfully considered, prompting countless shared discussions between the home owners and ourselves. A small bathroom renovation to improve the functionality for this family of four. We maximized the space by removing the large tub, increasing the size of the vanity, and adding a linen closet. The addition of a custom shower curtain and matching roman shade made the small space feel special and unique. Tucked into the hillsides of Marin, the environment played a predominant role in defining the contemporary yet exotic style of this home. In the master bedroom, a fireplace adds a cozy design element, while an inconspicuous home theater system can be elegantly tucked away when not in use. In the master bathroom, pebbled stone tile adorn the walls of the double shower that overlooks the hillsides of Marin. A guest bathroom was designed to compliment the eclectic aesthetic of the home. While in the center of the residence, a spiral acrylic staircase climbs 3 floors acting as a consistent element, tying together the varied yet complementary styles.
