Our client had some difficult request. She was a designer and prior to this being a garage it was a carport. She wanted to enclose it but keep the opening as wide as possible. She had many garage door companies out letting her know that she couldn't do what she was requesting. Her request was to not have a troller opener in the middle of the ceiling and we didn't have room for a side mount. We offered a Sommer opener that could be mounted sideways as seen in the photos. She also requested we make a window to match as close to elevation as possible and she wanted it installed in the breezeway connecting the garage to the home.

SeaThru is a new, waterfront, modern home. SeaThru was inspired by the mid-century modern homes from our area, known as the Sarasota School of Architecture. This homes designed to offer more than the standard, ubiquitous rear-yard waterfront outdoor space. A central courtyard offer the residents a respite from the heat that accompanies west sun, and creates a gorgeous intermediate view fro guest staying in the semi-attached guest suite, who can actually SEE THROUGH the main living space and enjoy the bay views. Noble materials such as stone cladding, oak floors, composite wood louver screens and generous amounts of glass lend to a relaxed, warm-contemporary feeling not typically common to these types of homes.
