There are young and feminine touches throughout this young woman's bedroom. The headboard is upholstered in white leather with nailhead trim. The vanity and nightstands have a mirrored finish. Extended roof overhang and northeastern exposure limits sun overload at the window, so there's no need for blinds or curtains. Instead, colorful art fills the approximately 12" high wall space over the window and focuses the eye on the garden view.

A peek-a-boo view that shows the front of the house leading toward the ocean that the home faces. The mixed exterior materials allow for unique features such as wood soffits and exterior timbers to blend perfectly with the dark grey.

Beth Welsh of Interior Changes helped this homeowner keep the "good interior finishes" like this full wood ceiling and beam structure, and the stained wood windows ~ while making enough alterations to bring this A frame up to date. By painting out the base and casings as well as some of the cabinetry, re-staining the floors and furnishing in a casual style~ the golden oak overload disappeared!
