Situated in old Palo Alto, CA, this historic 1905 Craftsman style home now has a stunning landscape to match its custom hand-crafted interior. Our firm had a blank slate with the landscape, and carved out a number of spaces that this young and vibrant family could use for gathering, entertaining, dining, gardening and general relaxation. Mature screen planting, colorful perennials, citrus trees, ornamental grasses, and lots of depth and texture are found throughout the many planting beds. In effort to conserve water, the main open spaces were covered with a foot friendly, decorative gravel. Giving the family a great space for large gatherings, all while saving water.

Living Room and Family Room are one large room with a vaulted ceiling separated by a brick fireplace pillar.
New skylights are double insulated with safety glass. The challenge was the technical work required to install a vaulted skylight.
All new trims, baseboards and doors in the redone living room. All new, modern lighting was installed.
Heated du chateau flooring was added.

In the shared kids’ bedroom, colorful accents from IKEA and Serena & Lily add a touch of whimsey. Framed Hermès scarves above the children’s beds double as graphic artwork.

A gorgeous hardwood floor is contrasted with the crisp white of this kitchen’s ceiling and cabinetry. A hefty, 3” flat-edge countertop offers the perfect surface for preparing meals and a small station is located at the below the island where the dogs can come to drink water.

There is a substantial heft and weight to the shades in the bedroom, allowing for privacy and respite from the sun. Acrylic legs on a Wisteria bench create the illusion of added space, balancing the size of the bed by Bernhardt.
