One of your friends or neighbors have a particularly cool outdoor space? Snap a picture and let’s talk about elements you'd like to see in yours. Or, if you're more of a writer, describe what you're looking for in a paragraph or two. This will help your landscaping contractor understand what it is you'd like to achieve with your covered structure or wood pergola. Think about how you will use your outdoor space and how many people might be enjoying it. Will you be dining, socializing, or relaxing under your gazebo or pergola? Also, as you gather ideas and inspiration, talk to your contractor about the costs for materials and design elements – that way you can establish an estimated budget.

Our client has traveled the world, collecting what speaks to her. We had boxes of artwork we wanted to hang, we used thrift store frames and a few new pieces to create this installation. We custom built the sofa and table which doubles as two twin daybeds, using apple plywood and thick dowels. The cushions are from Anthropologie. The chair was found locally, tables from Article. The rug was sourced from Morocco. The room was under lit, so we added a George Nelson pendant for maximum wattage. We paired it with a twin in the kitchen for added light and balance.

This home was a brand-new construction bought by a single father of two. With no furnishings, color palette, or concept for design, we started from scratch. We designed the floor plan for the home, deciding what each space would be dedicated to.
