Located in the historic King William District south of downtown San Antonio, this neighborhood infill project continues the pattern and scale of the existing streetscape. The narrow two-story stucco house allows for a side drive to access the rear garage/apartment. The house fronts the street with a generous porch like the older neighboring homes. A courtyard trellis and covered walkway connect the main house and garage/apartment. High performance insulation windows and air-conditioning systems, water harvesting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and reclaimed timbers used throughout the house all contributed to the sustainability of this project and obtaining LEED Gold certification.

Farnham avenue house is a single-family detached residential infill project. Some of the Eco-friendly design aspects are time honored such as, vertical ventilation and natural daylight shafts, dynamic cross ventilation, passive solar shading, and super insulation. Other features have been around for a long time, but are not that common on a confined city lot, such as geothermal heating and cooling. There are major elements that are reclaimed such as the exterior brick and structural timbers. Numerous locally sourced materials are incorporated. And some components are cutting edge technology, such as the bi-facial solar panels tied into the Ontario government's FIT (feed-in Tariff) program. This house is a merging of old and new eco friendly architectural technologies.

Cape Cod Kitchen Island is a timeless design that features a 59 inch mahogany top, large closed cabinets, numerous drawers and a large open shelf. Add the Cape Code Open Display Cabinet for a lovely ensemble. Beautifully hand built from mahogany, a solid hardwood and a sustainable solution for eco-effective design and construction. This classic design would offer lots of quiet beauty to any kitchen. Our European Vintage Collection is hand-made from start to finish. Many traditional “Old World” methods are used including dovetailed and mortise & tenon joints. These unique solid wood products are made mainly from mahogany and their hand-applied finishes create an antique but spirited look that is part of the charm and appeal of this collection. Standard colors are available in Distressed (as shown in most of our pictures achieving the popular "shabby chic" style) and Light Distressed. Knowing the importance of replenishing the earth's natural richness, this artisan actively participates in a tree re-planting program.
The Kitchen Island measures 35 High x 59 Wide x 22 Deep.

We designed this bathroom makeover for an episode of Bath Crashers on DIY. This is how they described the project: "A dreary gray bathroom gets a 180-degree transformation when Matt and his crew crash San Francisco. The space becomes a personal spa with an infinity tub that has a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Marble floors and a marble shower kick up the luxury factor, and a walnut-plank wall adds richness to warm the space. To top off this makeover, the Bath Crashers team installs a 10-foot onyx countertop that glows at the flip of a switch." This was a lot of fun to participate in. Note the ceiling mounted tub filler. Our firm worked closely with the Junior League of Miami to raise funds for the women and children who benefit from the Junior League’s programming and scholarships. A group of designers participated in the project of renovating the main house as well as the cottages. We felt in love with the Sausage Tree Cottage Kitchen and instead of demolishing the old kitchen we wanted to preserve the actual beauty and bring the old space back to it is glamour. The St Charles cabinets were of great inspiration for us. We strongly believe in history preservation.

Our most recent project is finished! It’s a beautiful reclaimed wood chicken coop in a Chula Vista backyard. This coop is 5ft x 10ft and houses 5 happy chicks. It is made with 95% reclaimed wood and matches the rustic yet classy decor of the the other outdoor furnishings.
Taking only 6 days to build, the coop was ready for the eager chicks quickly turning into chicken teens. It will provide fresh eggs for the family of four, as well as compost for their garden beds. San Diego Woodworks also constructed the middle raised garden bed, and taught a personal gardening class in which the parents and children participated in planting all their own veggies and learning the workings of the drip irrigation system.
All in all — happy customers, happy chickens, and a happy garden… Success!
