Inspiration for a modern home design remodel in Austin

This is an extensive kitchen/dining remodel that involved the removal of a wall and moving a large support header to the attic. The customer wanted a custom oak desk that covering the entire wall of their home office to match the new kitchen cabinetry, large pantry, and hutch/china cabinet with glass doors. The kitchen includes pullouts for spices and trash, as well as a cookie-sheet cabinet above the double oven. The island has an under-counter space for a large microwave and a stainless steel and glass vent hood for the cooktop. The floors are tiled with a ceramic hard-wood styled tile that is very resilient to drops and spills. All our cabinetry is custom made with 100% true-wood (no MDF of particle board), full-extension heavy-duty pull-out tracks, and European hidden-hinges.

For this kitchen remodel we tiled the floor with a woodgrain "Shaw Fossil Calcite" ceramic tile and the backsplashes with "Slate Supremo Winter" subway tile. The cabinets, like all of our cabinets, are custom 100% hardwood (we never use any M.D.F. or particle board) painted with a 5-step process, and mounted with european hidden-hinges for the doors and full-extension, pin bearing, heavy duty rails for the drawers. In addition to the normal drawers and cabinets (which all have adjustable shelving), these cabinets include a Lazy Susan, a spice pull-out, and two large pot-and-pan drawers that can hold approx. 40lbs. The countertops are Brazilian Sterling Granite with an undermount composite sink. The island doubles as a bar as we installed an extra 10" of granite, and is lit by 1930's vintage-styled hanging lights. We finished this kitchen with a suite of brand new black-stainless LG appliances.

Infinity leg Our infinity leg was water jet cut out of a 2" thick slab of solid steel, in this case finished with an antique bronze patina. We use a giant 10x16ft water jet that runs sand particles in the water to slowly, very slowly, cut through the steel. It's all programmed on a computer - for those of you that know what a cnc machine is, that's what we use.

In this project we turned a 2 car garage into an ADU (accessory dwelling unit) in 2 Months!! After we finalized the floor plans and design, we submitted to the city for approval. in this unique garage we made it luxurious because we created a vaulted ceiling, we divided the kitchen/living room from the master bedroom. We installed French doors in the main entry and the master bedroom entry. We framed and installed a large bay window in the kitchen. we added 2 mini split air conditioning (One in the master and one in the living room) we added a separated electric panel box just for the unit with its own meter. We created a private entry to the unit with it's own vinyl gate and we closed it at the end of the unit with another vinyl gate and we made tile on the walkway.
