Amber Freda Garden DesignFew materials can match the natural beauty of a newly installed wood deck and fence, which were a dramatic transformation for this small backyard patio. A paraffin treatment brings out the rich colors of ipe, a hardwood with a 30 year life expectancy. We gave the fence a contemporary twist by running the boards horizontally and varying the width, gradually thinning them as they go up. The bluestone pavers add a bit of contrast and visual interest on the patio floor. In order to save space, our clients asked us to build the planters into the fence itself, rather than resting any free-standing planters on the patio floor. Jeffrey ErbA dark backyard was given a new life with dramatic additions of built in planting beds, custom cut salvaged pavers, green screen trellis and a ton of charm. The reclaimed barn doors add a focal point to the east wall while the custom built two-tier planting system allows vines to fill this garden which spans two floors of the client's home.

HideAway ScreensThe homeowner wanted to create an enclosure around their built-in hot tub to add some privacy. The contractor, Husker Decks, designed a privacy wall with alternating materials. The aluminum privacy screen in 'River Rock' mixed with a horizontal wood wall in a rich stain blend to create a privacy wall that blends perfectly into the homeowner's backyard space and style.
Twisted Rock Terrascape & Design, Inc.The goal of this project was to provide privacy for a gas fire pit area in the back yard and to create a nice and clean look that was relatively easy to maintain while providing great curb appeal. We built a cedar privacy screen with contemporary lines and ran the gas line to a Rundle fire pit area that had the potential to upgrade to a paver patio in the future if desired. We finished with trenched downspouts, concrete edge, an engraved address rock and natural stone steps down the walkout.
