The interior of the wharf cottage appears boat like and clad in tongue and groove Douglas fir. The contrast between the foggy, gray exterior and warm interior is striking and intentional - a refuge from the harsh coastal environs. The living room is thrust out over the pond and into the view of the fjord beyond. Railings dissolve to permit views and light in and the doors can be fully opened to allow large gatherings to flow between interior and exterior. The structural steel columns seen supporting the building from the exterior are thin and light. This lightness is enhanced by the taught stainless steel tie rods spanning the space. This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. The bar/counter area is highlighted by a custom, Tiffany style chandelier. Enough space was left in front of the bar to accommodate two serving tables for food and snacks, with plenty of room to move about the space. Discreetly hidden behind the bar is a large capacity cooler that can chill several bottles at once. The bar is capped with eight lineal feet of Calcutta Gold Marble and sports a brass foot rail.
