This master bathroom renovation transforms a builder-grade standard into a personalized retreat for our lovely Stapleton clients. Recognizing a need for change, our clients called on us to help develop a space that would capture their aesthetic loves and foster relaxation. Our design focused on establishing an airy and grounded feel by pairing various shades of white, natural wood, and dynamic textures. We replaced the existing ceramic floor tile with wood-look porcelain tile for a warm and inviting look throughout the space. We then paired this with a reclaimed apothecary vanity from Restoration Hardware. This vanity is coupled with a bright Caesarstone countertop and warm bronze faucets from Delta to create a strikingly handsome balance. The vanity mirrors are custom-sized and trimmed with a coordinating bronze frame. Elegant wall sconces dance between the dark vanity mirrors and bright white full height mirrors flanking the bathtub. The tub itself is an oversized freestanding bathtub paired with a tall bronze tub filler. We've created a feature wall with Tile Bar's Billowy Clouds ceramic tile floor to ceiling behind the tub. The wave-like movement of the tiles offers a dramatic texture in a pure white field. We removed the existing shower and extended its depth to create a large new shower. The walls are tiled with a large format high gloss white tile. The shower floor is tiled with marble circles in varying sizes that offer a playful aesthetic in an otherwise minimalist space. We love this pure, airy retreat and are thrilled that our clients get to enjoy it for many years to come!

This project embarked on a journey to create a space that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal from the outset. Early discussions focused on developing design elements that would enhance the living experience while maintaining a minimalist yet warm atmosphere. A key feature of the home is the custom cabinetry, designed to seamlessly integrate with the stone fireplace, emphasizing cohesion and elegance. Recognizing the clients’ needs, special attention was given to the laundry room to ensure ample space for washing their dogs, with cabinetry thoughtfully arranged to maximize storage. Throughout the home, all finishes were chosen for their timeless quality to ensure the space would feel current for years to come. Detailed plans were drafted for cabinetry, lighting, and custom tile layouts, ensuring every interior detail was considered. Exterior finishes were also carefully selected and specified in the plans to create a unified look that resonates with the home’s overall design. As the project neared completion, plumbing and lighting fixtures, cabinetry, and hardware were meticulously selected. All wall and flooring materials were chosen to complement the home’s minimalist yet inviting theme. After the construction dust settled, the clients’ personal framed art collection was installed, along with a handful of new accessories purchased to complete the look. This thoughtful integration of all elements resulted in a space that is not only functional but also beautifully tailored to the clients’ lifestyle and tastes.

This custom fireplace design was client's vision that came to life and accomplished what the client desired, which was to provide a focal point in the room and add warmth to the space. The fireplace features dramatic and vibrant real fire flame and is especially enjoable because of its location in the room and because there is no glass installed around it. This custom fireplace is designed with three open sides and two linear ribbon flame fires about thirty six inches long, covered with crushed black glass to enhance flame pattern. Collection hood was installed and suspended at the top, which connected to proper-sized vent system and power vent fan to ensure proper draft. This appliance is a custom built decorative gas fireplace. The custom outdoor fireplace is rated for use with propane only and exhausts through a power vented 14” B-vent flue. The fireplace controls are designed to ensure that the exhaust fan has established an adequate draft via a pressure switch prior to initiating the pilot gas ignition sequence. This custom fireplace was approved by to the requirements contained in ANSI Z21.50-2014 “Vented Gas Fireplaces” standard. The investigation began on April 19, 2016 and concluded on April 29, 2016. The following non-destructive tests required by the applicable product standard were conducted with satisfactory results. Interlock systems Input manifold pressures Temperature Functionality The main burner tray is made of 16 gauge low carbon steel. Burners are easily removable, without the use of special tools, for repair and cleaning. The burner tray is readily accessible and designed so that one person can perform the removal and replacement unassisted. The burner is installed in a granite surround which is capable of supporting more than 300 lbs. The fireplace has an induced draft and the design is such as to prevent gas flow to the main burners and pilot burners in the event the blower providing the draft becomes inoperative. A pressure switch is used to achieve this. All controls are accessible for normal servicing and functional adjustment in position and are replaceable during normal servicing. Removal of an access panel to secure access to the control compartment is employed. Each appliance is equipped with an automatic gas ignition system which provides for ignition of main burner gas by means of proved pilot. If the presence of the pilot is not proved, automatic shut-off of pilot and main burner gas. The design of the custom fireplace is such that the flue gases from all burners are carried out of the appliance through a single flue outlet. The fireplace is equipped with a vent safety shut-off system designed to shut off main burner gas in the event the appliance venting system is blocked. The pressure switch device complies with a nationally recognized standard. The design of an electrically operated vent damper device and the control system are such that the damper is in the open position at all times that gas is flowing to the main burner. The firepalce is equipped with an automatic valve which controls both the pilot burner and the main gas.

A close friend of one of our owners asked for some help, inspiration, and advice in developing an area in the mezzanine level of their commercial office/shop so that they could entertain friends, family, and guests. They wanted a bar area, a poker area, and seating area in a large open lounge space. So although this was not a full-fledged Four Elements project, it involved a Four Elements owner's design ideas and handiwork, a few Four Elements sub-trades, and a lot of personal time to help bring it to fruition. transFORM had the honor of designing, manufacturing and installing a crisp new walk-in closet at The Chatsworth - a historic Beaux Art building located in the heart of Manhattan's charming Upper West Side. Built in 1904, The Chatsworth was reintroduced in 2015 with expanded floor plans, incredible amenities and a private club-like atmosphere. transFORM’s Senior Design Manager Rozalia Kiss, worked with the HFZ Capital Group to create a striking bedroom sized walk-in closet, which was recently featured in the New York Times article : Closets as Big as Some Apartments. The article identifies spacious closets as the latest must-have in some of the city’s most expensive condominiums. Quickly becoming an essential part of the modern home, a walk-in closet adds style and convenience to your daily routine. Designed in a clean white finish and tastefully accented with complementing polished chrome hardware, this custom walk-in closet delivers tons of functional and accessible space. All-white cabinetry offers a crisp look that allows your clothing to steal the spotlight. The high-contrast shaker style doors, create an elegant backdrop for your clothing. Light also pours through the big windows, drawing your eye to the iconic views of the Hudson River. It creates a feeling of brightness and positivity that energizes and enlivens. It’s a walk-in closet where you can look and feel your best as you begin your day. For added visual appeal, the unit was accented with crown and base molding. The elegant detailing was inspired by the pre-war era building’s architectural features. The moldings add a retro geometric touch that matches the apartments beamed ceilings and traditional herringbone floors that were all the rage during the period and make a striking comeback in this beautiful renovation. This unit was specifically designed with a variety of open shelves, hanging sections, and shoe storage. Hanging sections provide enough elevation to conveniently organize items based on size. From blazers and blouses to maxi skirts and evening gowns, all of your clothing is easily accessible. By using the same color hangers, your space will appear even more collected and composed. You can also arrange your clothing so that the colors compliment each other and appear as the favorable options they really are. For the shoe enthusiast, we included numerous sets of shoe shelves and cubbies that attractively organize and showcase your finest footwear. This type of system allows you to identify and grab your favorite pair as you mix and match the perfect ensemble. Shelving provides many of the same storage functions as drawers or baskets, but at a more economical price point. Items on open shelves are easier to recognize as a match for an outfit than items inside drawers.
