This classic Spanish home in South Pasadena was decorated to reflect the homeowners bohemian style, vintage collections, and subtle art deco features in the architecture. The owners of this luxury high alpine residence were dissatisfied with their existing system, and brought in the expertise of Mountain Multivision and Sound team to redesign the entire system. The MITSUBISHI television, hidden in its custom built cabinet by MIDDLE ATLANTIC RACKS when not in use, is raised with the touch of a button by an AUTON motorized lift. Equipment includes an amplified CD player by NAD, a SONY blu-ray disc player, an IPOD dock, and SNELL acoustic speakers. Lighting and shade control for the room are provided by LUTRON. A PANAMAX surge protector cuts out any electrical noise and keeps the equipment safe. ELAN HOME SYSTEMS all home control lets the homeowner operate all equipment from a single device anywhere in the home. Thermal integration, security integration, and home network integration leave little maintenance for the homeowner.

The room was being completely redesigned and the dry wall was opened up during construction, so DTV was able to run all wiring necessary for the TV, video components, audio system and speakers hidden between the cement and dry wall during that period. We installed a Peerless SUA765PI wall mount for the Samsung UN55HU7100 high-definition television seen in the space between the cabinets. On the shelves below are the system’s Marantz NR-1605 home theater receiver and the client’s Blu-ray player, PS2 and WII.

This antique bronze front door communication panel interfaces with the phone, audio system and surveillance cameras. When a visitor presses the button, the home phone rings with a unique ring, the house audio system mutes and player a custom chime. Once the chime is completed, the audio gradually ramps back the the level it was originally playing at. Just pick up the phone and talk to whomever is at the door. Just for the record, the embedded HD camera is stored on a local and remote server for safe keeping.
