Reynolds Architecture, founded in 1995 by Doug Reynolds, is an architect-led design-build firm located on Chicago’s North Shore. For the past 20 years, Doug and his team have designed and built over 150 distinctive custom homes. Commissions include the North Shore, Barrington, Chicago, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Colorado.
The firm’s philosophy is to design and build architecturally significant homes and ensure superior construction. While Doug’s designs can be described as classic and historically inspired, the latest technologies and energy conservation methods are integrated into every project. Great care is given to discussing each client’s vision, lifestyles, aesthetic, unique site conditions, and budget. In addition, Reynolds Millwork offers distinctive custom cabinetry and millwork that complement each home’s design and clients individual needs.
Doug is a licensed architect and member of The American Institute of Architects. He and his team have received numerous awards and recognition for their expertise and excellence in the fields of architecture, design, and construction.

We worked with Doug on our kitchen and family room renovation and highly recommend his firm. His design ideas were wonderful, his attention to detail was great and the finished project is just beautiful! Doug's whole team was very easy to work with and the project ended on schedule, on budget and we could not be more pleased. We loved all of his subcontractors who showed up on time and their quality of work was perfect. Reynolds Architecture is the best in the industry.

The process of planning, designing and constructing a home is an art form that Reynolds Architecture has mastered. I was drawn to Doug's classically-inspired sense of design and unmatched attention to detail that set his homes apart. This was the first time I had planned a custom home and Doug was very helpful guiding me through the process, from the initial layout, to design development and bidding. Working with Doug and the people at Reynolds was easy, professional experience. The design and execution were both accomplished through a cooperative, client centered interaction throughout the project. I have been a long time admirer of Reynolds Architecture and the mastermind behind it all, Doug. His work adorns much of the North Shore and is done conscientiously with the ability to stand in company of architectural icons like Shaw and Adler.
The thing I most appreciate about the homes are that no detail is left to chance and they fit the landscape or period of the original neighborhood development.
I have most recently had the privilege of collaborating with Doug on a project and his care and concern for the design is only surpassed by the his need to be transparent and prioritize his clients concerns! I highly recommend Doug and his team!
