Installed by crane on an upper floor, this bowling amenity features commercial-grade bowling lanes, a custom hand-crafted painted fiberglass clown face sculpture mounted to a curtain wall, computer scoring system with overhead TV monitors and pedestal-mounted keypad, laser and disco special effects lighting, Brunswick automatic pinsetting machines, sub-floor ball return system, and assortment of bowling shoes and bowling balls

MIRIAM MOORE has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Miami International University of Art and Design. She has been responsible for numerous residential and commercial projects and her work is featured in design publications with national circulation. Before turning her attention to interior design, Miriam worked for many years in the fashion industry, owning several high-end boutiques. Miriam is an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project. The glass bowl was made in the glass studio owned by the owner which is adjacent to the residence. The mirror is a repurposed window. The door is repurposed from a boarding house. George Mendel

This lake home has a special place in my heart. Many nights were spent hosting wonderful dinner parties, surrounded by LA's finest musical talent. I was fortunate enough to add a little of my own flair to the existing water thirsty, hillside. Because of California's dry climate, these areas have no immunity to the fires that rage through the area. It's hard to see but we have a recirculating pump that's cycling the water through like a natural stream. Something that is very rare in California. We opted to reinforce the hillside with lots of drought tolerant plants that are deep rooted, so when the rain does come a couple times a year, the hillside doesn't wash out. This home is nestled in Malibu canyon. Any home that is subject to the dangers of fire should have a system in place to preserve your home. This home has a pump that sucks water from the pool in an emergency while you wait for the fire department to arrive.

We built our house 22 years ago. I have been a custom window treatment professional for 16 years. I have fabricated lots of draperies, valance and Roman shades, and, rather considered pillows to be an afterthought. Not anymore! after two decades of kids, dogs and elderly parents our decor was looking a little shabby. We are slowly updated and have started with our family room, which needed new furniture. We purchased vintage pieces ad a Goodwill Super Store and then, with the help of my friend, Lynda Reid, of Lynda Reid Designs, chose fabrics from which I made piilows. Most of the fabrics are Vervain and I just love them/
