Originally planned as a family room addition with a separate pool cabana, we transformed this Newbury, MA project into a seamlessly integrated indoor/outdoor space perfect for enjoying both daily life and year-round entertaining. An open plan accommodates relaxed room-to-room flow while allowing each space to serve its specific function beautifully. The addition of a bar/card room provides a perfect transition space from the main house while generous and architecturally diverse windows along both sides of the addition provide lots of natural light and create a spacious atmosphere.

Pamela's living space is modern, elegant and a little bit Zen. Our job was to bring in a layer of comfy romance, so I focused on furnishing the space with mushy comfort, pure white slipcovers, warm woods, breezy linens and beautiful flowers, while respecting the modern edges.
We used soft, white-linen-covered furniture, flowing linen gauze curtains to divide up the open plan spaces, flowers, of course, and a chandelier to add twinkle. In her previous home, Pamela's collection of beautiful books were displayed on open shelves in a chaotic but organized way, but the bookshelves did not translate and so we housed the entire collection in cabinets on either side of the fireplace behind heavy doors of reclaimed wood. The floaty, feminine painting of tutus over the fireplace actually has an edge to it, as it is built up from layers of plaster and has a cement like texture.

This 1300 square foot home built in the 60's got a new lease on life after this full remodel took it from dark and dated to bright, fresh and functional. Hallways were widened and used as storage corridors and looked at as a continuation of the space, in order to give each room a more spacious feel. The homeowners love of blue was used tastefully, to inspire the concept of the kitchen. Standard euro-style cabinetry was given a custom inset look with the application of recessed crown and light rail.
3 different styles of cabinet pulls were mixed beautifully, to style up the cabinets even more. This remodel was packed with functional details, the dining table even doubles as a game table for boys night!

Custom library bookshelves, a hidden bookcase door and multiple arched doorways transform this previously boring suburban basement into an intriguing retreat for this homeowner.

Designed as a retreat for a couple transitioning into retirement, this 5,000-sq-ft home balances traditional charm with modern comfort, preserving key architectural details while enhancing functionality.
This cozy living area features a preserved fieldstone hearth, wood-burning stove, and exposed beams. Natural textures, warm wood floors, and modern furnishings create a timeless, inviting retreat.

The client had a finished basement space that was not functioning for the entire family. He spent a lot of time in his gym, which was not large enough to accommodate all his equipment and did not offer adequate space for aerobic activities. To appeal to the client's entertaining habits, a bar, gaming area, and proper theater screen needed to be added. There were some ceiling and lolly column restraints that would play a significant role in the layout of our new design, but the Gramophone Team was able to create a space in which every detail appeared to be there from the beginning. Rustic wood columns and rafters, weathered brick, and an exposed metal support beam all add to this design effect becoming real.
