A former summer camp, this site came with a unique set of challenges. An existing 1200 square foot cabin was perched on the shore of Thorndike Pond, well within the current required setbacks. Three additional outbuildings were part of the property, each of them small and non-conforming. By limiting reconstruction to the existing footprints we were able to gain planning consent to rebuild each structure. A full second story added much needed space to the main house. Two of the outbuildings have been rebuilt to accommodate guests, maintaining the spirit of the original camp. Black stained exteriors help the buildings blend into the landscape. The crystal clear fresh water is also used to irrigate vegetables and an orchard. Design ideas for a traditional water fountain landscape in New York.

Michael wanted to have a natural pond in his backyard, complete with fish he caught from nearby creeks. Turtles, even crawfish have made their home here. He recently had us add the bog habitat so that the smaller life forms would be safe in a more still area away from hungry predator fish or strong currents. www.TexasPonds.com

This is a final project installation picture of the landscape renovation project. This picture shows the detail of the amazing koi pond with weathered limestone and aquatic plants. This project entailed demo of the koi pond, driveway, and walkways. The project scope included replacing removed concrete with pavers for a new patio area. We also incorporated a paver walkway that tied into the patio. The koi pond was completely redone with weathered limestone, and finally the driveway asphalt was replaced with stamped concrete with paver accent bordering the outside edges

This pond is just part of a large backyard project envisioned by the homeowner. He wanted to dedicate the backyard, 3+ acres, to the memory of his deceased wife after her battle with cancer. The 25'x30' pond with a soothing 75' meandering stream was installed in the spring of 2013.
