This bed along the south side of the house is outside of the master bedroom suite and gets a decent amount of shade. We wanted some low plantings. The owner was very keen on populating the garden when native plants collected from the property. In this case we actually collected all of the ferns in this bed from their larger property. It has been amazing to watch how many stowaways on our native transplants have come in including some Jack-in-the-Pulpit. I have also added some bloodroot which was harvested at another location.

Elizabeth Leonard- The home owner wanted to squeeze in a veggie garden without sacrificing too much of her yard where her children play, as well as securing the garden from the local deer population. For an added touch we planted deer resistant herbs and ornamentals surrounding the enclosure. We succeeded in providing an aesthetically pleasing garden that produced enough for this small family, by using the space she had effectively. The deer fencing blends into the environment while securing her harvest . All while staying within her budget.

The site's most notable feature is an unusually deep lot sloping down to a small branch, populated by mature trees with a large beech the most outstanding example. The owner's primary request was extensive glass on the back of the house coupled with a deck off of the living areas facing south into the stunning site.
