This postage stamp yard south of Broad in Charleston needed attention. The owner purchased then came to us with a list of things desired. Storage, a fountain, screening of parked car and patio space. No Problem. Only a small side door allowed access to backyard. That was closed off and sliding glass doors were added onto a raised patio that allowed for storage underneath. Then the ground level was paved in brick and a fountain wall was used to screen the parked car. All you could ask for in this beauty.

This is a piece that we commissioned on behalf of a client with the very talented artist, Ann Carrington. Ann, based in England, creates stunning pieces of art using beads, buttons, seeds, sequins, metal and other materials. She also creates stunning and whimsical sculptures. For this piece, we found an image of an Indian postage stamp showing The Golden Temple of Amistrar, modified the image for our artistic purposes, and then hand selected the deep indigo fabric from a choice of many, as well as the type of pearlized button used here. The image is hand sown with thousands of the buttons onto the purpose made fabric, and then framed inside a simple, but effective, acrylic frame/ shadow box.

After evaluating the situation, the livingroom was quite spacious so we suggested to combine the two areas which were the two least used space in their home. We then transformed their dining room to this kitchen. The old kitchen space became a nice eating knook.
