LED step lights are recessed into the concrete wall to provide soft light on the patio. In the kitchen the shelves floating on the concrete wall are back lit with LED strip lights. This media room installation consists of a solid Poplar frame for a wall mounted flat screen television, 2 solid Poplar cube shelves that have built-in down lights and 3/8" thick cantilevered glass shelves, a solid Poplar single high wall mounted 4-drawer cabinet with LED lighting built into the back-splash, and lighting beneath the cabinet to highlight the solid Rosewood tile wall treatment. The Poplar is finished with a custom chocolate brown paint, and the Rosewood tiles have a clear coat of Satin Polyurethane. All lighting is dimmer operated. The overall dimension of the project is about 10' x 6'.

The homeowners needed a meaningful focal point in their living room that elegantly integrated a large television while adding much-needed storage and architectural character. An empty wall offered no organization and lacked the warmth they desired. We designed and fabricated this extensive, floor-to-ceiling built-in entertainment unit using rich, dark-stained hardwood. The design balances symmetric closed storage (for clutter and AV equipment) with open shelving for personalized display. The centerpiece is the custom, smooth-arched media nook, which frames the screen and features integrated wiring access, making the TV look right at home. Precision crown molding ties the unit into the existing ceiling for a truly bespoke, seamless integration.
