My first view entering this historic home listed on the national register was of this handsome staircase. As lively and textural as Nancy wanted to go in the fashioning of her furnishings, it was paramount to restore the architecture precisely as it was constructed in 1910. Just the second owner in this charming home, Nancy and Mark rolled up their sleeves in the early 80's to pioneer the restoration movement newly prominent at the time. The ceiling was destroyed by leaking pipes on the second floor. Weeping as she went, Nancy took detailed images of the original stencil work and ceiling finishes vowing that someday she'd have enough saved up to hire someone to bring it all back. One of my favorite tasks to date was researching and recreating the stencil design and 7-layered pattern layout for our stenciling specialist, LeBron Zolbe. This beautiful kitchen remodel was once a u-shape style kitchen but it was reconfigured and now has a peninsula. The cabinets featured are the Starmark maple wood with the Ridgeville style door and white finish. The Solid countertops have a waterfall edge complimented by the 3x6 bevel subway cotton glossy backsplash. The sink used in this remodel is a Blanco Precis Silgranit Super Single Bowl in metallic gray. The wet bar was also a feature added in this remodel. Tired of doing laundry in an unfinished rugged basement? The owners of this 1922 Seward Minneapolis home were as well! They contacted Castle to help them with their basement planning and build for a finished laundry space and new bathroom with shower. Changes were first made to improve the health of the home. Asbestos tile flooring/glue was abated and the following items were added: a sump pump and drain tile, spray foam insulation, a glass block window, and a Panasonic bathroom fan. After the designer and client walked through ideas to improve flow of the space, we decided to eliminate the existing 1/2 bath in the family room and build the new 3/4 bathroom within the existing laundry room. This allowed the family room to be enlarged. Plumbing fixtures in the bathroom include a Kohler, Memoirs® Stately 24″ pedestal bathroom sink, Kohler, Archer® sink faucet and showerhead in polished chrome, and a Kohler, Highline® Comfort Height® toilet with Class Five® flush technology. American Olean 1″ hex tile was installed in the shower’s floor, and subway tile on shower walls all the way up to the ceiling. A custom frameless glass shower enclosure finishes the sleek, open design. Highly wear-resistant Adura luxury vinyl tile flooring runs throughout the entire bathroom and laundry room areas. The full laundry room was finished to include new walls and ceilings. Beautiful shaker-style cabinetry with beadboard panels in white linen was chosen, along with glossy white cultured marble countertops from Central Marble, a Blanco, Precis 27″ single bowl granite composite sink in cafe brown, and a Kohler, Bellera® sink faucet. We also decided to save and restore some original pieces in the home, like their existing 5-panel doors; one of which was repurposed into a pocket door for the new bathroom. We must admit, we’ve got yet another show-stopping transformation! With keeping the cabinetry boxes (though few had to be replaced), swapping out drawer and drawer fronts with new ones, and updating all the finishes – we managed to give this space a renovation that could be confused for a full remodel! The combination of a vibrant new backsplash, a light painted cabinetry finish, and new fixtures, these cosmetic changes really made the kitchen become “brand new”. Cabinetry The cabinets boxes that needed to be replaced are from WW Woods Shiloh, Homestead door style, in maple wood. These cabinets were unfinished, as we finished the entire kitchen on-site with the rest of the new drawer and drawer fronts for a seamless look. The cabinet fronts that were replaced were from Woodmont cabinetry, in a paint grade maple, and a recessed panel profile door-style. As a result, the perimeter cabinets were painted in Sherwin Williams Tinsmith, the island in Sherwin Williams Sea Serpent, and a few interiors of the cabinets were painted in a Sherwin Williams Tinsmith. Countertop The countertops feature a 3 cm Caesarstone Vivid White quartz Backsplash The backsplash installed from countertops to the bottom of the furrdown are from Glazzio in the Oceania Herringbone Series, in Cobalt Sea, and are a 1×2 size. We love how vibrant it is! Fixtures and Fittings From Blanco, we have a Meridian semi-professional faucet in Satin Nickel, and a granite composite Precis 1-3/4 bowl sink in a finish of Cinder. The floating shelves are from Danver and are a stainless steel finish. Flooring The flooring is a cork material from Harris Cork in the Napa Collection, in a Fawn finish.

Hallway wallpaper installation – Loomis, CA. A contemporary hallway in Loomis was given structure and motion with a vertical stripe wallpaper in cool tones. We installed it along a long corridor, aligning panels precisely between three doorways to maintain visual consistency and bring subtle rhythm to the space.
