in an effort to maintain the original character of the timber loft, many of the original elements were left in place. This photo shows the original cross bracing that is installed between the floor joist. There are also small metal hooks that were used in the past for old conduit or piping that was part of the original use of the building. A old wall stud that once penetrated the floor system remains but has been cut back to accommodate the new use now. These are the ends of the joist that were cut back when the new two story opening was created for the new staircase.

This is a close up of our huge 5 foot tall by 8 foot wide custom printed mural. These murals come with your picture on it (or you can purchase this one if you like). And we can make them almost any size from a small tiled mural behind your stove like a kitchen backsplash or shower wall or entire wall for a restaurant or business. They each come numbered and with a "map" to lay it all out and easy to install.

These are the ends of the joist that were cut back when the new two story opening was created for the new staircase. A new level floor was installed over the existing sub-floor on the original joist. This also shows the exposed through bolt connections that held the existing timber beams together.

The foyer to this unit is defined by the curved wall over the opening to the open loft space. The ceiling in this area was intentionally kept lower so that when one walked up the two risers they were then into the wide open space of the loft.

The young child's bedroom is an open loft concept within the loft on the second floor at the top of the stairs. There are heavy theater style curtains that can be pulled shut to block out the light from the large double hung windows on the opposite side of the room.
