This beautiful renovation by Alair Homes used SAGIREV REF #8 Caramel Cedar panels in four different applications: Gables, Columns, Soffits under the main entrance, covered areas of the home, and the interior man cave ceiling above the garage.

The sleek fireplace wall was designed using Dekton Porcelain slabs. An asymmetrical design on the fireplace was achieved by cutting the slab into rectilinear segments creating a "Mondrian" effect. The wall covering slabs have a smooth wood grain texture to them with 3/16" reveals in between--painted lime green for an unexpected POP! Yakisugi (焼杉) is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. Yaki means to heat with fire, and sugi is cypress.[1][2] It is referred to in the West as burnt timber cladding and also known as shou sugi ban (焼杉板) which uses the same kanji characters but an incorrect pronunciation. The ban character means "plank". By slightly charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes water-proof through the carbonisation and is thus more durable.[3][4] It also protects against insects, as well as making the wood fire retardant.[5] - Wikipedia
