Large stone landings and landscape boulders create a much more natural feeling landscape. Large Arctic Willows , blankets of Sweet Woodruff, and clusters of various Hosta species soften the edges.

The Mazama Cabin is located at the end of a beautiful meadow in the Methow Valley, on the east slope of the North Cascades Mountains in Washington state. The 1500 SF cabin is a superb place for a weekend get-a-way, with a garage below and compact living space above. The roof is “lifted” by a continuous band of clerestory windows, and the upstairs living space has a large glass wall facing a beautiful view of the mountain face known locally as Goat Wall. The project is characterized by sustainable cedar siding and recycled metal roofing; the walls and roof have 40% higher insulation values than typical construction. The cabin will become a guest house when the main house is completed in late 2012.

Beautiful Master Closet, Guest Closet, and Daughter's Closet installed into the spaces where reach-in closet space was previously difficult and messy. Shaker doors in Antique White with Oil-Rubbed Bronze custom handles by the homeowner. A glass door was added to the daughter's closet with slide-out shoe shelves behind it for easy, boutique-style access to the beautiful shoe collection above a tilt-out hamper. The Master Closet has open space above the double hanging and dress hanging space for water hyacinth baskets above for added storage. The homeowners needed TV access so there is a slide-out shelf with a screen for easy access to pulling it out when needed. The Guest Closet has 6 drawers and a tilt-out hamper that line up below the upper cabinets with hanging space and extra depth for additional storage for hooks behind the clothing.

This large basement space was dreamed up by the homeowner to allow her to do many crafts with her grandkids! This was a really fun project to do - every craft has it's own placement in the room.
