This gorgeous contemporary custom wine cellar features a slew of modern touches, from the sleek and seamless style the vintageview racking provides, to the floor to ceiling display, to the dual paned insulated glass front. Everything about this custom wine room screams "Here I am!"
The design also allows for intimate wine decanting inside the cellar itself.
This custom wine cellar was constructed in Carlsbad, San Diego, California. It is comprised of vintageview metal wine racks, stone flooring, and some wooden custom wine racking. The entryway wall and custom wine cellar door are of seamless, tempered and insulated dual pane glass. The result is a sleek wine storage space, and a distinctly contemporary wine cellar design by Vintage Cellars.
Glass enclosed cellars are becoming the hottest new trend in proper wine storage. Seen in many high end contemporary homes, this style beautifully showcases the wine's individual labels, with the unique metal horizontal display label forward design.
Small wine rooms encased in glass are unique in their behind the scenes design and installation. After the room has been built properly, ensuring proper cooling can be troublesome without the proper guidance from a wine cellar expert. The wine cellar specialists and wine cellar builders at Vintage Cellars are extremely knowledgable and qualified in calculating the best possible fit for each unique space.
Most often, glass enclosed wine cellars need to be fitted with a larger cooling unit than may seem necessary. Glass - even when dual paned and insulated - is not a great insulator. Understanding the ins and outs of wine cellar construction and wine cellar design from a knowledgeable company like Vintage Cellars is key in ensuring your wine cellar runs smoothly and your wine investment is properly taken care of.
This space also boasts a nice little countertop with glass front cabinet storage above and diamond bins and drawers below. Pull out a bottle or two, set up a nice charcuterie and cheese plate, invite a few friends over - you've got the makings of an incredible night!

Questions for Contractors and Qualities to Look for:
If you have been considering a kitchen renovation or building a new addition to your house, finding the right contractor that works with YOUR expectations is extremely important. Sometimes the architect, friend or associate will refer a contractor and if and when they do, be prepared to ask these questions.
How quickly will you respond to my emails or phone calls? Will you let me know ahead of time what the hidden costs are? How often have you finished a project on schedule? How large is your crew and are the sub-trades appropriate for my scope of work? Then there are some great qualities to look for…are they listening to you? Did they show up on time and therefore reliable? Is the builder anticipating the challenges associated with your renovation and offering solutions for you to consider? Positive and can do attitude? And of course, always ask for 3-5 referrals of similar scope of work, proper permits, licenses and insurance. Vanco Construction shows up on time, responds quickly, are great problem solvers and care about your bottom line and schedule. We build as if it is our own home. Call us when you are ready. The Porch House sits perched overlooking a stretch of the Yellowstone River valley. With an expansive view of the majestic Beartooth Mountain Range and its close proximity to renowned fishing on Montana’s Stillwater River you have the beginnings of a great Montana retreat. This structural insulated panel (SIP) home effortlessly fuses its sustainable features with carefully executed design choices into a modest 1,200 square feet. The SIPs provide a robust, insulated envelope while maintaining optimal interior comfort with minimal effort during all seasons. A twenty foot vaulted ceiling and open loft plan aided by proper window and ceiling fan placement provide efficient cross and stack ventilation. A custom square spiral stair, hiding a wine cellar access at its base, opens onto a loft overlooking the vaulted living room through a glass railing with an apparent Nordic flare. The “porch” on the Porch House wraps 75% of the house affording unobstructed views in all directions. It is clad in rusted cold-rolled steel bands of varying widths with patterned steel “scales” at each gable end. The steel roof connects to a 3,600 gallon rainwater collection system in the crawlspace for site irrigation and added fire protection given the remote nature of the site. Though it is quite literally at the end of the road, the Porch House is the beginning of many new adventures for its owners.

Achieve a Royalty Look with Calacatta Gold Tiles
We all have that dream home we want to have. Better yet, some of us dream of a fantastic renovation of our homes; transforms them into glossy nests we can always be glad to perch in. For those of us who are already on the way to the dream house, you probably are shopping for material to use. So how about we introduce you to the good old Calacatta Gold marble?
If you are asking what that is, we can say it’s a unique way of inspiring royalty to your home using tiles. Calacatta Gold is a special stone tile mined in the hearts of Italy, on the Appian Mountains. Ever since it was discovered, it has been heavily used as a floor tile as well as wall tile, creating remarkable artistic visuals with a touch of natural gold in it. Calacatta gold tile also has one unique trait you won’t notice in most tiles; you can easily mix it with other slab colors, specifically gold extra, Calacatta Borghini, Crema and Super Extra.
Calacatta gold is also one of the few tiles with a unique pencil vein detail centering the white hue background and grey veins on the tile as well. This is the perfect choice for artistic walls and floors but be sure to use the right slab colors if you want to bring in more colors; if the slab and tile don’t match in color tones then it may affect the overall look of your walls/floors.
There are plenty of places in the house you can experiment with the pristine Calacatta gold tile. How about the living room wall that is a background for your TV and home theater system? Calacatta wall tile will create a covetable golden hue that will always shine before you. Moreover, you will definitely fall in love with your walls in the morning, when a streak of sunlight illuminates the golden yellows.
Installing the beautiful Calacatta gold tile is a pretty easy job as well. However you just need to be careful to use white thinset instead of grey. White thinsets will absorb the trowel lines whereas grey may leave behind ugly marks which may taint the exquisite nature of the tiles. If you also want your Calacatta floor tile or wall tile to last longer make sure it is properly sealed with grout.
You still have that dream home in mind? We already have you covered on the best tiles to you use. Just think Calacatta gold tile all the way, all your friends will definitely take selfies beside your shiny golden walls.

Chicagoland Home Products provided a custom storage solution in this children’s play area in Chicago, where there was play space but no place to put away and store the toys. With careful planning, quality design and installation, CHP left room for the kids to roam, access the play table and utilize the hutch that was already in the room.
Flanking both sides of the hutch, from which unicorns can now survey a much tidier domain, drawers and storage shelves provide a home where toys can take a time-out and wait for kids to call them into action. Now, properly stored stuffed animals, games, books and more give little feet space to move about.
Base molding keeps things that roll and bounce from getting trapped under the storage cabinets. Crown molding seems an appropriate touch in this small kingdom. The units are dressed in glossy white from the top shelves down to the drawers.
That’s what Chicagoland Home Products can do for your child’s things in his or her playroom. CHP can, also, provide wonderful storage solutions for your toys in the garage and basement. In fact, wherever storage and productivity answers are needed in office or home, one call to CHP will give you the help you need. Contact us now for a free in-home consultation.

Nestled in the heart of Dallas, our clients enjoy a 4-acre estate where they have developed the property for a "park" and "garden" like feel with lots of privacy and sound barrier from the neighbors and busy street along the front. They travel a lot for work and want to be able to come home and enjoy their own backyard oasis that is properly maintained and cared for. They also have 4 grandchildren who live on part of the property and roam around everywhere, so having lots of manicured lawn space to drive their toys around on, explore, etc. is important too.
We service the property one day per week, since they retain a full-time porter. However, he is stretched thin as doesn't tend to much of the landscaping as needed as he's typically working on other side projects for the client. In order to complete our maintenance work within 5 hours on our service day, we work diligently with the client and the client’ assistant to constantly communicate issues we see and/or need to have resolved. Thankfully our client is very quick to respond and allows us an abundance of freedom to make necessary improvements when deemed necessary.
Additionally, last minute work functions and/or parties are often hosted at their house. We often times have to respond quickly with an extra service visit, service date change, seasonal color change, bed mulching, etc. to help get it ready for their company.
We value the trust and communication we have with this client and look forward to working with them for years to come!

We stripped off the existing roof and inspected all deck boards for water damage or rot. To prevent water damage from ice dams or a driving rain, Ice Dam and Water Shield was installed along all the rakes, eves, vent pipes, chimney, dormers and skylights. This roof is ready for the next blizzard, nor’easter or hurricane! (Speaking of hurricanes – our GAF Timberline HD Lifetime Roofing system can sustain winds up to 130 mile per hour!)
Drip edge was installed along the rakes to improve water shedding efficiency – it pushes water off the roof and away from the home. It also prevents water penetration from a wind-driven rain and deters insects.Underlayment, a felt/paper product, was installed on the entire roof for additional protection between the roofing shingles and roof deck. GAF Pro-Start Eave/Rake Starter Strip was installed for maximum wind resistance. (You can learn more about Starter Course Shingles by reading this roofing blog) A GAF Cobra Ridge Vent was installed to allow proper ventilation of moisture and heat in the attic. This helps prevent mold and ice damming (since we’re talking ice dams – here are a few helpful ice dam protection tips) This GAF roof is featured in Williamsburg Slate, a beautiful color-blended, architectural shingle.

This project began with precise field measurements and coordination with the existing roof edge and window layout to ensure clean alignment and proper water management. Our team prepared a custom subframe system designed to support the aluminum composite panel (ACP / ACM) gutter cover while allowing for thermal movement and long-term durability.
The aluminum composite panels were fabricated with folded edges and return details to fully conceal fasteners and create sharp, continuous lines along the roof perimeter. During installation, each panel was carefully leveled and aligned to maintain consistent joints and a seamless visual flow across corners and transitions.
Special attention was given to edge detailing, underside coverage, and integration with the soffit and wall finishes. The system was installed to protect the gutter assembly, improve water control, and deliver a clean architectural appearance with a low-maintenance aluminum finish.
The final result is a durable ACP / ACM gutter cover system that enhances the building’s exterior geometry while providing long-term protection and a refined modern look.
