Inspiration for a contemporary bedroom remodel in San Francisco

Situated in old Palo Alto, CA, this historic 1905 Craftsman style home now has a stunning landscape to match its custom hand-crafted interior. Our firm had a blank slate with the landscape, and carved out a number of spaces that this young and vibrant family could use for gathering, entertaining, dining, gardening and general relaxation. Mature screen planting, colorful perennials, citrus trees, ornamental grasses, and lots of depth and texture are found throughout the many planting beds. In effort to conserve water, the main open spaces were covered with a foot friendly, decorative gravel. Giving the family a great space for large gatherings, all while saving water.

A spacious dining area with a beautiful contrast of walnut stain furnishings and deep grey walls. An industrial pendant modernizes the room and and mercury glass candlesticks keep it a bit romantic. Looking forward to choosing a rug and artwork for this room.

Hawkeye Landscape Design We began this project with the idea of making a friendly entryway and social area under the Mulberry tree which provides much needed shade in this hot, mountainous area. The 'red fescue' meadow grass has a cooling effect and the agaves reduce the need for excess water and maintenance. The backyard has a covered dining area with a corner lounge and fireplace. The large barbecue offers a cantilevered counter for entertaining. The waterfall into the pool is surrounded with bamboo and plantings that emulate the hillside beyond the property. The permeable paving and mix of Vitex and Olive trees provide shade for smaller seating areas to enjoy the variety of succulents throughout the garden

Our favorite rustic look accented with turquoise and cobalt accents against a weather wood cabinet. The Mirror is a great combo of modern and rustic with a geometric pattern and and worn silver panted finish over a weathered white finish. The mirror itself feels vintage with some distressing and the size is generous. Photo by Amanda Jones.

We love working along side designers to help them complete their vision. This bedroom was in need of some new bedding and a bed side table. We were able to provide a timeless ivory coverlet and shams in a diamond pattern and the unique white painted side table.
