A characteristic of quarter sawn White Oak is a pattern of medullary rays, seen as wavy ribbon-like patterns, which produce a beautiful figure. Quarter sawn White Oak was a key feature of the American Arts and Crafts movement–particularly Gustav Stickley's furniture.
