LOWELL CUSTOM HOMES Lake Geneva, WI., - This Queen Ann Shingle is a very special place for family and friends to gather. Designed with distinctive New England character this home generates warm welcoming feelings and a relaxed approach to entertaining.

A refurbished Queen Anne needed privacy from a busy street corner while not feeling like it was behind a privacy hedge. A mixed use of evergreen trees and shrubs, deciduous plants and perennials give a warm cottage feel while creating the privacy the garden needed from the street.

Exterior of home from the north side. This shows the side gables and their size. While far from imposing, they offer a large upstairs space because of the original roof height. A soft green palette harmonizes with the parkside setting.

Guest bathroom with oak vanity.
In collaboration with K& L Interior Design, Blue Sound Construction remodeled much of the interior of this Queen Anne home, including millwork, staircase, multiple bathrooms,, home office, relocating the kitchen, and a fabulous upstairs suite complete with kitchenette and entertainment area. Shaking off its 90's stuffiness, the home befits its stunning views of downtown Seattle & the iconic Space Needle; its "Frenchy Modern" black and white aesthetic is the perfect "My Girl Friday" kind of hat tip to urban chic. When we first met, this classic 1900 home in Queen Anne was suffering from an unfortunate 1980’s remodel. The owner was interested in recapturing some of the historical charm with a modern sensibility, while celebrating the breath-taking views of Puget Sound and the Space Needle.
Custom details included woven blackened steel infill panels in the white oak cabinets, bookmatched marble back-splashes and countertops, bespoke brass and walnut light fixtures, and a hand-troweled venetian plaster hood surround.
The kitchen was equipped with top-notch appliances for this accomplished home cook, and ample storage was provided for gadgetry and food-stuffs.

Chef's kitchen with oversized island, custom range hood, custom white cabinets, marble mosaic framed backsplash, brass pulls and high-end nickel faucets. Coffered ceilings and custom wood windows.
