Another great feature highlighted here is the mitered corner window which allows a seamless view out of the corner. The island serves as storage, a place to grab a quick bite and also hides an additional marble topped rolling island perfect for baking preparations. From this view of the kitchen, you can see the family room and stairway leading to the second floor. We stained the banister handrails to match the cumaru hardwood floors. The granite countertop of the island matches the granite on the kitchen counters flanking the stove. The island was reconfigured to host a single, large sink and provides seating for two--making it an ideal place for their daughter to do homework, or grab a quick bite to eat.

The far end of the kitchen has a small pub table and stools for a quick bite and extra seating...and makes it easy to grab another glass of wine from the wine bar! Tracy Marshall Photography

This Troy kitchen was a total tear out. The typical peninsula, with overhead cabinets, that divided the kitchen from the eating space, was eliminated. A bar- height table is used as an island, or a perch for a quick bite. Tumbled limestone tiles with tiny glass mosaics make up the timeless backsplash. The counter tops are solid surface material. Various lighting sources and the greenhouse window offer a choice for functional or ambient lighting.

This kitchen has it all, even a thoughtful built in leg rest for quick bites or long chats in the kitchen. Featured here are Showplace Wood Product cabinets in the Cambridge door style.

BISTRO FARE In the Kitchen, narrow nesting tables that simply offer a place to grab a quick bite provided necessary room for opposing runs of cabinetry- modern era painted built-in cabinets on one side and an Old-World furniture-like natural walnut hutch on the other. Lightly veined white marble countertop folds up wall to become end backsplash. Existing double window, which could not be changed on the outside due to homeowner association restrictions, was made to appear as a triple with an additional blind bay.

An inviting outdoor bar window creates the perfect casual entertaining spot on this bright white porch. A narrow counter ledge beneath the pass-through window offers just enough space for two drinks or a quick bite, paired with vintage-style bronze metal stools. The black-trimmed window provides contrast against the horizontal white shiplap siding, echoing the transitional farmhouse style. Matching black lantern sconces frame the window, adding symmetry and soft lighting. Ideal for connecting indoor and outdoor living, this space brings charm, function, and modern farmhouse vibes to an outdoor entertaining area.

The nearly 10’ island is an ideal place for food prep, a quick bite, buffet set-up, or sharing a glass of wine with friends. 2.5” thick marble countertop on the island gives substance and a professional feel.

A modern and contemporary mix with a touch of farmhouse brings this beautiful kitchen to light. A comfortable island or built in seating makes exceptional use of the space for prep, for a quick bite or a more elegant dining experience.

The integration into her Family Room makes this the perfect layout for everyday cooking and also for special events and entertaining. We added a custom Wood Countertop from Grothouse to the end of her island for a quick bite, cup of coffee or to write down groceries lists :)

These clients loved everything about their home except the Kitchen. During the week it is the operations hub of a busy and growing garden and landscape company. Weekends are time to cook fresh garden produce and entertain on the recently expanded deck. For a couple that loves to works and play hard, the existing space was short on both work areas and places for guests to congregate. Our first move was to open the space by removing a butler's pantry. The wife requested a comfy seat for relaxing with a libation while her husband whips up delicious feasts. The Dining Room works well for formal meals and holidays, but a spot for a quick bite while checking email was a priority.
