Deck - mid-sized traditional backyard deck idea in Denver with no cover

1/2" thick clear tempered glass panels mounted on the side using stainless steel stand-offs. Code required more connectors than I originally wanted. It came out very solid. Leaves the wall in the back open for art work. Every house should have a gallery.

Very cool open existing stairs with outdated looks and materials. Client provided her requirements and her desired end results. With some creative thinking, we came up with a game plan and the client trusted me with the work.

It will take a bit of time to get used to the open feeling, specially if you have fear of height. Its very safe.

We figured doing stainless cable on both sides of the stairs would be a bit busy, so we decided to do glass on the outside of the stairs and the walkway on the 2nd floor. The 2 monolithic glass panels were very hard to handle, but worth the effort. One piece is over 12' tall.

Perfect space, with really outdated design. This was cool for its time, but we can do better.

You need to look carefully to see all the details, specially with how we secured the monolithic piece of glass to the stairs and the floor.
