Jones Builders built our dream house. We came to Kevin Jones with some ideas that we cobbled together from the "Parade of Homes" tour of custom homes in Southeast Wisconsin... not to mention, dozens of photos of floorpans and photos from magazines. Kevin was able to integrate the myriad of ideas we dumped on him and turn it into a floorplan and look that was perfect. After only a few adjustment the building process was underway and just about finished as scheduled - delays were mainly from changes we made. The entire Team at Jones Builders provided great customers service and addressed any issues or complications quickly and professionally. We will build again but since it may not be in the area we only hope that we can have something close the same experience; at the very least we'll go to Kevin Jones for the design.

Kevin Jones Builders put an addition onto our home. Kevin is polite, respectful and worked hard to make sure we received the exact product we wanted. In many instances we were very specific in what the room should have ie, double sided fireplace, many windows, and he came through for us. The addition is amazing and we spend most of our time in this space. The room is well insulated even with 5 windows and one large sliding door and stays warm in the in the winter and cool in the summer. The quality has remained outstanding even after three years.. Visitors are so impressed with the room. We are highly satisfied with the end product.

When my wife and I decided to build a home, we were overwhelmed. We purchased "How To" books, toyed with the idea of being our own General Contractor, and viewed model homes from many, many different builders. Upon narrowing our search to two builders, we set up an interview with the owner of Kevin Jones Builders LLC. Immediately, we found Kevin to be knowledgeable, up front, friendly and the type that doesn't "beat around the bush." At the interview, we approached him with pre-made blueprints for our home and he immediately found cost saving changes for the same quality of work. Kevin provided names of references to contact from previous customers and showed us current construction projects he was working on as examples of work he does. Ultimately, we scrapped our blueprints and had Kevin draw up a new plan for the same residence. We started building on August 25, 2015, one month before my wife's due date. We were extremely excited about this new endeavor but also nervous about having our first child the month after we broke ground. Kevin gave us a projected completion date of approximately 7 months. Kevin utilizes an easy to read Google Doc to view and make selections for your home. The cost of the project utilized good quality materials but he also leaves you as the consumer the ability to opt for higher end or less expensive materials. This is unlike most other building companies where cost is set and everything is an upgraded item. The cost of our project was $310,000. Not knowing the ins and outs of building a home, we relied heavily upon Kevin, Kevin's Project Manager - Ken Hartman and friends. I visited our work site almost daily and was very involved in the day to day progress of the home. My contact with Ken was in person or over the phone. One of my concerns prior to breaking ground was the horror stories I heard about owners with some companies trying to get a hold of their builder but calls were never returned. This was most definitely not a concern with Kevin and Ken. Phone calls were returned promptly and any concerns were addressed in a timely manner. If there was a situation where I wasn't getting the response I was looking for with Ken, Kevin made himself available to clarify, explain and address my concerns. The ultimate time frame of our completed home was nine months, two months longer than the anticipated date. At the time, we were admittedly frustrated. We were living with family and had a now six month old. We pushed for faster progress. Kevin was understanding and did everything he was able to, to get us into our home more quickly. The only criticism I had and still have with regard to building, was having our new furnace utilized as the sole heat source for our home through the winter months. Prior to moving in, Kevin has the owner go through the entire house, room by room and create a "punch list" for each room with items that need to be addressed and corrected prior to occupancy. This is done with both Kevin and Ken. I remember at the beginning of the build, Kevin stated there will be minor imperfections in the building process, materials and / or craftsmanship. I kept this in mind throughout our build. While moving room by room with Kevin, he was noting the most minute imperfections to be corrected; Things I, to this day probably would not have noticed. Our punch list for the entire house was maybe, one page at most. By comparison, our next door neighbor who built with a larger building company, had a punch list one and one half pages long for EACH room in the house. Prior to taking over our home, each and every item on the punch list was corrected. Each home has a one year warranty. Prior to the one year, Kevin ensures you are working on a list of any defects, accidents or other miscellaneous items that occurred during the past year. In fact, I purposefully waited to write this review until after our one year warranty check was completed. This was because I also had heard horror stories about builders not honoring the one year warranty, or builders becoming ghosts with regard to warranty work. Again, this was absolutely not the case. Kevin (and Ken) honored all of the one year warranty work and ensured it was all completed. By comparison, that neighbor from above who built with another builder still has work from their warranty they just gave up on after two years. Though building, I've learned a few things. When you build a house, it should be expected that the unexpected will occur. This is true of any builder. Some things you can control. Others you can't. Time frames are generalized estimates from past practices and aren't a reflection on a specific builder. If Kevin Jones is wrong about something, he'll admit it and take responsibility. Kevin Jones Builders was the most qualified builder we interviewed. He was beyond accommodating, reasonable, professional, understanding and a human being. Though we plan on living in our home for the next 20 years, I look forward to the next time we build (if Kevin isn't retired by then.)

We first met with Kevin three years before we actually starting building. We owned the lot for five years, and really appreciated the fact that he never pressured us to sign a contract. This was after he had spent considerable time on a detailed building plan. He met with us several times at our home as we felt strongly, that he had to see where we were coming from, to plan our future space. We tabled the building idea for two years after that, and only heard from him at Christmas with a kringle. We finally signed a contract in August of 2016 and will be moving into our new home on September 14, of 2017. We are thrilled with the beauty of our new home that shows superior craftsmanship in every way. The placement on the lot maximizes the spectacular views in every direction. We have been particularly impressed with all the contactors in Kevin's team and Ken Hartman, our general contractor. We have found them to be very pleasant, attuned to our concerns, and experts in their given fields. When we have voiced a concern, it was addressed and fixed. A majority of the homes in our subdivision were built by Kevin. We talked to most of those homeowners before we signed with Kevin,based on the good reviews we got from our neighbors. Some of the homes are up to twelve years old, and remain beautifully, a tribute to the builder. We would highly recommend Kevin as a builder. We'd also like to give a shout out to Lizzie Huck , of Huck Interiors. She is a new part of the package, and a great plus. She helped us to stay on track in a timely fashion; and to make great choices in many areas that can be overwhelming to one building for the first time. .

Us being first time home builders we met with at least 4 different builders. While going through an open house from Jones Builders, we talked with Kevin. Told him our needs and he drew up a custom home plan that we described. It was a very fluid process. As the house was being built he told us what to expect and how things would flow. This was echoed by his General Foreman, Ken. During the build if there was something we needed to be doing they let us know. If we had a question on anything it was explained to us. Yes there was stress, but not because of Jones Builders, it was us not knowing the process, again Kevin, Ken, or the contractor doing the work would talk and explain what takes place during the different stages of the build. They listen to us and if we wanted something changed or weren't happy with something it was worked on until it was right. Kevin and Ken even notice things that I would have most likely missed through the final walk through. Watching a hole turn into a home is a great feeling, building with Jones Builders was a great experience. Most of his contractors have been with Kevin over the years and that says something about a builder. My wife and I have been looking for lots and homes in the S.E. Wisconsin area for nearly a year. If we found the right lot we would have Kevin build the house. After looking at several locations and over 80 homes, we found an 11 year old Jones built house on a wooded lot at the end of a cul de sac. When we walked in we instantly knew it was built by Kevin, even though it was not stated in the listing. The owner later confirmed it was a custom Jones built house. We could tell based on the quality. After 11 years there was not a crack or split anywhere and it had not been painted recently before the listing. There was not a creak in the floors or stairs. Kevin's homes are built with care and quality. We have enjoyed this home for 13 years. There are some minor adjustments we would have made to the floor plan, however, this was a spec home when we purchased it and we made those discovers as we lived in the home. One change we did make was to the master bathroom and Kevin and his staff were hired for that renovation. They were such a pleasure to work with! Through the years we have had some minor repairs and Kevin and "the guys" have been VERY accommodating in those repairs. Kevin and his staff are very hardworking, fun, and warm people. We had a wonderful building experience with Kevin Jones Builders. The entire process from drawing up the plans to the finished product was handled very professionally, promptly and the workmanship was excellent. We worked on our plans with Kevin for several months, and he was very helpful in getting the things we wanted into our home. During the construction period, if there was an issue of any kind, either Kevin, Ken Hartman or the subcontractor involved would meet with us and a good resolution was always reached. After seeing a fantastic home in Kenosha built by Jones Builders, my wife and I decided to have our 4 bedroom home in Libertyville completely remodeled, creating an open concept living area, updating our kitchen with state of the art appliances and cabinetry. A 2-floor addition was also built (basement and main floor) as part of this open concept. What was most appreciated was the attention to detail, creativity how to redesign old areas to be more functional, improving energy efficiency of the house, their contacts for custom cabinetry (Robinson is a master craftsman), and most importantly, Ken's on-site presence for nearly a year driving activity on the project nearly every day. I never wondered "Where are they? What are they doing?" We lived in the house during the entire project with our 3 small kids, and they were able to work around us. Notably, was their willingness, and patience, to address all my new ideas and concerns. The ability to change things on the fly was key to the overall success of the project. It has been about 11 years now, and there is not a single aspect of the work that we have been dissatisfied with. We hired Kevin Jones Builders LLC for several projects in early 2009 including complete remodels of two bathrooms. From the conception to the completion, we were treated with professionalism, respect and courtesy. We always knew which service professional to expect at any given time, and a wonderful touch was meeting them as they all did a walk-through before the project even began. The professional assigned to coordinating the details was present nearly every day or communicated by phone to ensure the work was done as asked and to ensure we were informed. He kept everything moving along and explained thoroughly any alternatives we could consider. This saved us from a few errors we would have made had he not done this. The entire building process was a pleasure from beginning to end and there were no quality issues with Kevin or any of his subcontractors.
