This small simple, elegant, garden house was designed by LandCurrent and constructed by Greg Morrow & Sons. The small structure is set within a sloping meadow. Native stones found during excavation have been used to form organic walls and steps. Planting of various varieties of lavender, sage, kinnikinnick and creeping euonymus seamlessly connect the garden to the existing meadow. The garden house was designed within the height and floor area that precludes the need for building permits. The pattern of window slits provide ample light and gives the garden house a contemporary look. LandCurrent is interested in designing small, elegant, and affordable landscapes and structures fit for today’s economy. This garden house was the recipient of the 2010 People's Choice Award and the 2010 Colleague's Landscape Architecture Award in Eugene, Oregon.

Recipient of the "Best Powder Room" award in the national 2018 Kitchen & Bath Design Awards. The judges at Kitchen & Bath Design News Magazine called it “unique and architectural.” Mixed textures generate energy and interest in this main level powder room just off the foyer, from the richly patterned tile backsplash to the leathered quartzite countertop and the pebbly finish of the bronze door handle. Gorgeous indoor pool space, what a pleasure to collaborate with Architect Greg Sundberg to bring this project life. The homeowner was entirely taken by the Lightstreams tile, and chose to use it on the wall as well. Lighting is functional and also creates a romantic and high tech vibe. Pool and the view outdoors is visible from the exercise room and the family room. Collaborative work ensures the best of the best—This pool is a 2019 recipient of an International PHTA Gold award! The Ackerman-Dater House was built in 1745 and is the recipient of the prestigious State of New Jersey Historic Preservation Award. Ensuing years had taken their toll on the house and major intervention was needed when the owners engaged Morpurgo Architects to restore their home. Our collaboration has protected and preserved this house, perpetuating its continued use.
Today, the Ackerman-Dater House is a historic residence that incorporates various contextual building periods, each in harmony with the original, producing a cohesive whole. With the sensitively-placed addition of a new wing, compatible with the style of the existing architecture, we enhanced the Ackerman-Dater House and ensured that it would meet the functional needs of a family living in current times.
Preservation of the Ackerman-Dater House maintains the character and history of our mutual past, benefiting the entire community. For our exceptional restoration, client, contractor and Morpurgo Architects were presented with the NJ State and the Bergen County Historic Preservation Awards.
