From this view, you can see how removing the angular walls and reducing the size of the linen cabinet has created a sense of balance, as well as a linear feel across the remodeled room. The white walls and flooring coupled with the strategically placed can lights creates a much lighter, brighter feel than before. Even with the same skylight and glass block window, the original bathroom felt significantly darker and more crowded. It’s amazing what a difference an updated color scheme and some streamlined structural changes can make!

The top row of wood across the pergola is designed to meet the sun head-on. These purlins or slats are positioned close together for increased shade, but we didn’t stop there. We also added a TopGal polycarbonate cover to the pergola for increased protection from the sun. The homeowners chose a bronze-tinted TopGal cover because it filters out more sun than clear polycarbonate sheets would filter. TopGal blocks UV rays while allowing light to penetrate, and it will also reduce the heat on this patio in the afternoons.

Exterior of an older 50's home that was recently remolded in order to give it some life! Almost like a fortress...the outside is covered in stucco, but underneath is impenetrable cinder block construction keeping the environment contained inside to reduce electricity consumption, all while protecting the house from the elements and possible criminals wanting to bypass the door if desperate enough. We set up surveillance on all 4 corners of the home to make sure all his property was monitored.

Space is at a premium in Birmingham, Michigan, and turf to run and play is a luxury. Our clients wanted to transform their small cut-up, outdated patio into an entertaining area with more space for dining, easy access to both doors, and a convenient grilling area while sacrificing as little turf as possible. We took the small separate hardscape spaces, brought them all together, and then designed a large step that would span both doors, creating a cohesive flow. We topped it off with a bump-out for a separate grilling area. We utilized Techno-Block Westmount in Merlot for a high-end material to this Birmingham home. This backyard is now classic and clean, providing more usable space. Best of all, we only reduced the total turf area by less than 5 square feet.
