Inspiration for a contemporary wooden open staircase remodel in New York

The exposed front yard has regular passersby on the sidewalk with a full view of the new water feature and shade garden entry garden. A new privacy fence mimics the historic iron fence.

This waterfall photo is a section of a rock lined creek-stream water feature, that we built, which is over 200' long. It is located underneath a grove of oaks that provides plenty of shade and partial sun for the ferns and other shade loving plants. The landscape was designed by the homeowners and is meticulously maintained.

Design ideas for a traditional landscaping in Boston.

This client's home backs up to a beautiful native Beech and Tulip woodland with an intermittent stream running through the middle of the site. After mistakenly over-clearing the natural forest saplings, the once lush woods was now bare. Called in to help re-vegetate the woodland, we designed and created a new path network through the woodland so that the client could enjoy and experience their new garden. Planted with large masses of native perennials, shade grasses and spring bulbs this back yard is now lush once again. A seemingly minor but important touch is found below the Fijian Mahogany decking in the Cedar screened-in porch. A screen was placed in-between the framing joists and the decking to keep unwanted insects from getting in from underneath the porch.

Tucked into a corner of the dining room, this butler’s pantry is small but has a lot of style, with its metal grout joints and oversize antiqued tile. We repeated the brass plumbing fixture – it’s from the same collection as the kitchen faucet. The clean, sleek lines are perfect for this small space. Photo © Alyssa Rosenheck 2016
