RediRoot Plastic Air-Pruning Containers feature a slatted design that distinguishes it from traditional solid wall containers. This design provides plant material with superior aeration and drainage while reducing circling roots.
Air root pruning is a process where a plant's roots are pruned as they grow rather than when they are transplanted. Basically, when a root tip comes in contact with the air it is pruned, sending a signal to the plant to produce more lateral or fibrous roots.
RediRoot’s design features raised feet allowing for 360-degree air-pruning helping you get the most from your plants and trees. RediRoot has a variety of additional benefits including:
Reduces and often eliminates circling roots
Airflow allows growing medium to dry evenly reducing wet spots
Increases yield
Produces a dense, fibrous root structure
Reduces transplant shock
Made from recycled materials
BPA-free and UV resistant

The Arbutus were already in place and the existing Agapanthus overgrown. The Agapanthus were reduced with added color of Phormiums and Artemisia and some whimsy from Anigozanthos. The fence is in a contemporary horizontal style of redwood sealed with clear stain.

The building has been anchored into the site with a series of stepped forms being used to reduce the scale of the site cut and slope. A central deck/courtyard provides sheltered private indoor/outdoor living, creating a central hub for the second floor.

Raised Cedar Perennial Herb Beds were constructed on either side of an existing storage shed (close to the kitchen) to reduce bed maintenance (annual lawn edging) and add interest and functionality to a backyard which originally had only a lawn and fence. Note that two young pear trees were also planted along the opposite fence for the same reasons.

High in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, this majestic lodge was custom designed by MossCreek to provide rustic elegant living for the extended family of our clients. Featuring four spacious master suites, a massive great room with floor-to-ceiling windows, expansive porches, and a large family room with built-in bar, the home incorporates numerous spaces for sharing good times.
Unique to this design is a large wrap-around porch on the main level, and four large distinct and private balconies on the upper level. This provides outdoor living for each of the four master suites.
We hope you enjoy viewing the photos of this beautiful home custom designed by MossCreek.

The former expanse of lawn has been reduced to a low-maintenance swath of green.
Accent boulders, trees, shrubs, and native plants provide visual interest in varying heights and textures. While small at first, the new plants will spread and mature to fill out the yard over time.

It is important to the client and our team when creating a residential design to balance openness and privacy.

Views literally "Around the Property", via our designed encircling Rain Garden with clustered trees, draw guests out into and throughout this site. Photo taken Spring 2014, immediately after trees were planted, and before final shrubs and groundcovers went in.

Scott & Catherine Buley. High Tech Turf & Trees, LandscapeMakeover.biz, Rain Garden Nursery. Master Gardener farm house residence makeover. Remarkable clumps of Royal Raindrop flowering Crabapples and other trees leafing out and flowering now continue to amaze this Spring. Trees planted only days ago in this creek-like Rain Garden are literally stopping traffic. Fun to work on a project that has received such a warm welcome from the local community! Multi-trunk trees have many practical and beautiful benefits; just ask us!

We re-used many of the plants the client already had on their property - dividing ferns, hostas, mallow, echinacea, and ligularia... in this way, we kept costs down and maintained continuity and flow.
The pad was created for a small greenhouse that was installed later that summer. The existing vegetable planters remained, but more edible shrubs and trees were added around them to reduce mowing and add functionality.

Myrtlewood is not something we get to work with all the time, but Northwest Sustainable in Portland, OR does mill custom flooring using local myrtlewood trees. This project for us included carpet removal, subfloor installation, installation of the new floors, and site sand and finishing.

Across the house the original hedges were removed and the lawn reduced to accommodate a broad palette of plants for interest. Plants include Princess Flower, Lantana, Penstemons, Breath of Heaven 'Sunset Gold', Geranium sanguineum. The Crape Myrtle tree was existing and formerly in the lawn.
