Bedroom - contemporary bedroom idea in Portland
Bedroom - contemporary bedroom idea in Portland

Client had a very dated bright aquamarine mudroom and a very tight budget. We mocked up a workable floor design and created a user friendly space that fit within her budget by utilizing a local builder supplies outlet and creating a design around the cabinets that fell into their budget.

This primary bedroom and walk-in closet renovation transformed a previously dated and underutilized space into a tranquil and stylish retreat. The design focuses on creating a sense of calm, balance, and elegance, achieved through careful selection of materials, colors, and furnishings that evoke a cozy yet modern ambiance.
The goal of this project was to transform the room into a serene and sophisticated space that serves as both a sanctuary for rest and a functional area for daily use. At the core of this design is the philosophy of blending modern functionality with an organic connection to nature through color, texture, and spatial harmony.
The walk-in closet features custom open shelving and a clean, minimalist layout that maximizes storage space while maintaining an organized, airy feel. A combination of sleek black storage units and open racks ensures ample room for hanging clothes, accessories, and storing workout equipment. The neutral, white walls with the dark ceiling keep the closet feeling light and fresh, while still visually connecting to the bedroom's bold color palette.
This newly designed primary bedroom evokes feelings of peace and luxury. The deep, moody greens make the room feel cozy and inviting, while the light wood floors and white accents provide a sense of brightness and balance. It’s a space where one can truly relax, escape the demands of everyday life, and enjoy quiet moments of reflection or rejuvenation.
In contrast, the walk-in closet is functional and efficient, yet equally sophisticated. The open shelving creates a sense of organization without clutter, making the space feel larger and more user-friendly.

One of our favorite projects to work on is re-creating an unfinished area into a beautiful space. We were honored to work on an audio video project in Chatham, NJ for a client who was creating a basement game room. This room includes a 70” LED TV, with an in ceiling surround speakers, a NuVo background music system, a DirecTV, AppleTV, Xbox and Xbox360 systems. This room is multi-functional, allowing for users to entertain guests for a party, or sit back with the family to relax for a movie.
Our industry is always changing, with new devices that can control virtually everything. All in one remote controls are an integral part of that. Universal Remote Control has been a leader in this industry, building quality products that are reliable, customizable and user friendly. This customer has for years utilized and trusted URC’s MX-3000 remote and requested it be used on the system. Here we have balanced new audio and video equipment with a familiar easy to use remote control that makes the experience for the client understandable and rewarding.
Happy clients, with customizable solutions, attention to detail and follow up are the name of the game, and we do it better than anyone. If you have an audio video project, give us a call. With their children growing up, Mr & Mrs Hills in Southend-On-Sea decided it was time to give their much loved family kitchen a well deserved renovation, creating a space for all the family to use and enjoy.
They wanted a kitchen that had plenty of storage and was user friendly for all the family, so commissioned Burlanes to transform their cramped and dated kitchen into a spacious and open-plan room. Walking into Burlanes Chelmsford, the couple took an instant like to our Wellsdown kitchen; our take on the classic Georgian country kitchen; built on the notions of good proportions and symmetry, combining traditional charm with all the benefits of modern living.

This design was a playful mix of eclectic and transitional looks. The Corgi art was custom made by the amazing Caden Montgomery. The client wanted to keep their antique dining table but we updated the look with a custom hand forged buffet, new suede sitting chairs, and beautiful velvet and chinoiserie fabric wing chairs. The fireplace in living room was completely re-vamped with a new contemporary fireplace insert and custom concrete mantle. Updating the bonus room with a few simple additions; new accent chairs, curtains, accessories, a new storage ottoman, and new rug made the space feel more complete and yet user friendly enough for kids! On the porch I utilized the current furniture and added the curtains, lights, rug, tables, and accent pillows. I made custom faux fern vases to soften the edges of the chairs and sofas. It is now a wonderfully fun place for family and friends to gather in. I love my clients and always have great fun creating magic in their homes!
