We opened up this pace and reconfigured the kitchen in this wonderful new open concept space. The glass front cabinets and floating wall shelves give wonder spaces for display and reduce the heavy look that would have come from all wood fronts. We integrated a custom kitchen seating nook to maximize the space in this small kitchen. Visually the space is opened up and modernized with up-to-date finishes.

Main Line Kitchen Design has a different business model than other kitchen showrooms, designers, and cabinetry dealers. The difference helps us to do five important things better than our competitors. The kitchens we sell are better designed and our designers are more experienced. This is because we insist on showing customers designs we recommend, BEFORE, we do a design they request. This way, final designs tend to be more collaborative and professional. Our designers are more experienced because they are better paid and design with more cabinet brands than at other dealers. Our pricing for cabinets is less than other cabinet dealers. This is because we do not have a showroom open to the public, and we require a small deposit and a screening before we accept customers. This helps our designers spend their time more effectively. And, it eliminates 80% of the overhead kitchen showrooms spend on staffing, larger displays, and on a curbside location. We carry more brands of cabinetry than other dealers. This is possible because we display one cabinet for each brand we sell. Through glass countertops clients can examine a brands construction quality, and we display the door styles and finishes of our brands. Instead of the larger displays customers see in traditional showrooms, our customers can view 5 million kitchens on Houzz.com, or the hundreds of our kitchen renovations we show on Houzz, our web site, and in framed photos on the walls of our office building. Kitchen construction is often better organized and generally costs less. This is because we recommend general contractors free of charge. They supervise construction from scheduling to completion. This eliminates a middleman, reduces delays, and eliminates the fees that almost all showrooms and home centers charge their customers. We are also happy to work with any contractor a customer finds on their own. If we haven’t worked with that contractor before they may need more of our direction, but both companies can benefit from working together and possibly referring each other in the future. Less problems arise, and if they do, they are handled more quickly. This is because every kitchen we sell is reviewed by at least 3 kitchen designers during the ordering process. The original U-shaped kitchen had a peninsula by the patio door that extended toward the refrigerator. When the refrigerator doors were open, it created a traffic roadblock. “They were concerned that removing the peninsula would reduce their available storage. The new cabinets, using the full height up to the ceiling, offer nearly an equal amount of storage space in a much more open kitchen layout,” adds kitchen designer, Deb Bane. Replaced "builder grade" three cabinet white island with 3 feet of additional cabinetry to include a double trash pull out and bookcase end for cookbook storage/other. Added three additional 12" deep cabinets to back side of island (at seating) to provide seasonal storage. Seated side cabinet width was reduced to allow for pull up of two additional seats at each island end.

New upper and lower cabinetry was installed where the walk-in pantry and fridge used to be makes up for the counter top and storage space that was lost by removing the peninsula. Not only do the upper cabinets provide great additional storage, but the lighting inside is diffused with beautiful ribbed glass – providing a stylish look without the burden of meticulous dish display. The lower cabinetry incorporates drawers instead of reach-in cabinets for easy access. We also installed a microwave drawer below the counter top. These popular appliances are safer and more convenient than traditional microwaves, reducing clutter on the counter top and matching the other stainless steel appliances and hardware used in the kitchen. With a beautiful wine room chandelier. "Eric Flores was very helpful with hints and videos. The racks assembled quite well as the components' quality was very consistent. The nail gun really reduced assembly time. A nail would occasionally go slightly to the side due to wood grain and would have to be redone. This was probably less than one percent. Overall, I would give the kits a 9.5 /10.0. The room is 8'-10" x 11'- 8" with 2x6 wall studs, sprayed foam insulation, and an exterior "speak-easy" door. We are using a WhisperKool through-the-wall unit with a bottle probe holding 60 degrees F and 50% humidity. The fun part was the trip to Healdsburg (Sonoma County) to stock up on their local award winning Cabs, Zinns, PNs, & Chards."
