This modern renovation and addition to a 1960’s split level home is a statement of architecture consistent with the modern undertone to the city’s new development. A recessed minimal entry, through a six-foot pivot door, leads you to a light filled open plan Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room marked abstract compositions of wall and window. The indoors are extended to the outdoor by way of a 13 foot sliding Nana wall. Minimalistically appointed, natural light is the main focus of this renovation.
Our client valued the notion of a fresh home that with statement architecture. Zoning regulations presented an additional layer of complexity. Split level homes are typically the hardest to work one, we were able make several large modifications such as a widened stair, alignments between floors and a lofted 2 story Living Room tie the new to old.

This dining area is part of a full condominium renovation completed in the Capilano building at Woodcroft, 2024 Fullerton Ave., North Vancouver. The design focused on improving spatial flow and brightness by opening the kitchen wall and creating a pass-through connection between the kitchen and dining area.
Wide plank flooring installed throughout the unit visually connects the dining space to the kitchen and living room, reinforcing the open-concept layout created during the renovation. The modern globe pendant light adds a soft architectural feature while maintaining a clean and minimalist aesthetic.
Mirrored closet doors were incorporated to visually expand the space and reflect natural light coming from the living room windows. As with many renovation projects in the Woodcroft high-rise complex, this work required careful coordination with strata management and building regulations to ensure the permitted renovation was executed smoothly and efficiently.

The construction was managed by LCP Engineering & Construction, using the innovative Ecogrid® technology, based on SCIP (Structured Concrete Insulated Panel) construction, which provided this home a high thermal-acoustic performance, reduction on waste generation during construction and minimal energy consumption. Furthermore, this project was planned to take full advantage of the sun’s potential, through the usage of solar and photovoltaic panels, designed to produce the energy needed to heat all water from house and pool, as well as generate part of the electricity consumed.
