After two years of fighting with a failing pond liner, the resident decided to replace the liner in the pond. This 150’ x 115’pond sat above and flowed into a larger pond which was lined with PVC liner. We were replacing this with a 45 mil epdm fishsafe rubber liner. This presented a problem: there is no way to adhere the new rubber liner to the existing PVC liner in the lower pond. The solution was to pour a cement 18” wide x 2’ deep footing next to the wier damn between the two ponds in order to connect the two liners together. The old liner was placed on the top of the footing and a water-block sealant was used. The new rubber liner was placed on top and another layer of sealant along with stainless steel bars were laid atop the two materials in order to press them together to maintain a water-tight junction. A drain tile system was installed beneath the liner to relieve ground water pressure and vent off any gasses. Water tight seals also had to be provided for multiple plumbing penetrations through the liner. Non-woven geotextile planting media bags were used to prevent erosion around the perimeter of the pond. As the pond was landscaped with lawn and perennials, these had to be removed and preserved and maintained throughout the project in order to return them upon completion of the lining. All trenching work and removal of plant material was done by hand in order to maintain the surrounding landscape; great care was taken throughout the project in order to protect existing hard and softscape, so that upon completion, the area appeared almost exactly as it had been before work began.

Rob and Danielle have three children and wanted a kitchen redesign that would function better for their active household. Their kitchen contained tight spaces with a narrow island that blocked flow through the room. Two cooks in the kitchen were one too many as the space wasn’t conducive for it. For entertaining, the island proved to be too small to set out all their food and have room around it for guests to congregate. The only way to walk to the great room, which was where the family hung out most often, was to go through the kitchen and dining area, proving to again congest the area. They are avid sailors, and wanted to bring in the color of the sea into their contemporary design.
I added a separate entry point directly from the kitchen to the great room, and created a work triangle in a separate area to relieve the congestion from people passing through the room. The island shape and size were uniquely designed to allow the person at the sink to be able to look directly into the great room, and provide ample space to spread out food for entertaining. A bookcase was integrated into the island to display cookbooks, and the paneled refrigerator made for a seamless wall of beautiful cabinetry. The entry into the formal dining was relocated to remove the necessity of having corner cabinetry. A separate bar area allows family and guests to make their drinks without needing to go into the chef’s space. The glass backsplash tile was selected to reflect the sea colors they love, with crystal pendants to add bling similar to the light that reflects off the water.

Many people think about what they want their home to look like from the outside.
But what if you had the chance to design your home from the inside out instead?
You could solve your organizational problems before they start to ensure your new home has form AND function… along with all the pretty stuff that gets all the attention.
An Organized, Forever Oasis
Two-and-a-half years ago, Maureen and her husband, Michael, both in their 70s, embarked on the construction of their forever home, a project not many would take on in their golden years.
Maureen knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but she also knew there were things she wanted.
Top-to-bottom organization in her home’s numerous closets and pantries – and the ease of living that comes along with it – was on the top of the list.
After a recommendation from her trusted Interior Designer, Maureen called us. Rebecca from our team quickly got to work helping Maureen imagine her new, organized forever oasis.
Custom Organization for Unique Lifestyle Needs
Maureen & Michael’s punch list for the new home buildout included their master closet, guest closets, food pantry, and their ‘dog pantry’ – which serves their 2 beloved furry family members.
Following the initial consultation, Rebecca drew up 3D renderings of each space, mapping out layout, hardware, features, materials & colors to be used.
From high-end shelving to drawer units, spaces for hanging items, cubbies for shoes & small belongings, and storage for dog leashes, pet supplies, cleaning supplies, and more – the goal was to maximize on the square footage of each space.
Turning Stressful into Fun
Along the way, Maureen experienced something surprising – what could have been a very stressful process was actually fun!
Rebecca and the streamlined Inspired Closets consultation combined with our design process was a huge reason why.
The couple completed construction on their new, forever home & moved in 6 months ago.
Maureen was relieved when the big move went off without a hitch and unpacking was a dream.
Everything had a place. She could see everything.
Whether you’re embarking on your new construction, forever home or a renovation for the ages, just imagine how we can help you create your dream closets.

This customer from Stroud was soon to be re-letting her house but the Ceramic tiled floor and especially the grout had been left in a poor and dirty condition by the previous tenant. The ceramic tiled floor was installed throughout the Kitchen and through into the adjacent conservatory. Conscious this would affect future lettings she contacted Tile Doctor to see if we could help.
I paid a visit to the property to survey the floor and discuss how we would restore the Ceramic tiles and get them looking clean again. She was happy to hear we could help and agreed to my quote and we booked the work in for the following week. It would only take a day which suited her perfectly as she was keen to get the property back on the market.
Stroud is a lovely market town and in the centre of Gloucestershire. It is the main town in Stroud District and forms the centre for numerous surrounding market towns.
The Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounds the town, and the Cotswold Way path passes by it to the west, so it really is a desirable place to live with lots of lovely walks.
The first job was to protect all the walls and units to ensure they did not get splashed by the products we would be using. I then sprayed Tile Doctor Remove and Go all over the floor and the grout lines, this was left for a short time to dwell and get to work breaking down the dirt. The floor was then scrubbed using a black buffing pad fitted to a buffing machine finishing off by scrubbing the grout lines with a stiff brush. The soil released from the floor was then rinsed off with water and extracted with a wet vacuum. Once I was happy with the result the floors were speed dried with a blow heater. The alternative was to leave the floor overnight, but as time was of the essence speed drying was the best option.
Later that day the floor was dry, and I was able to seal the grout lines with Tile Doctor Ultra Seal. I used a pipette to apply the sealer directly to the grout to ensure maximum coverage. The tiles themselves did not require any sealant as ceramic tiles are sealed at the factory when they are produced. Grout being cementitious however does attract dirt and so sealing it will keep it looking fresh for some time to come and make it easier to clean.
The client was very pleased with the results and relieved she could re-let the house again. Now the floor was clean and much more attractive it would ensure she could achieve the best rental value.
I suggested she left a bottle of Tile Doctor Neutral Tile Cleaner for the new tenants as this would be the best product to keep the floor clean moving forward, you only need a small amount to dilute and it has a pleasant fresh fragrance. At least if the product is on site the tenant is more likely to keep the floor looking good and not resort to everyday household cleaners which eventually break down the grout and its’ seal. She thought this was a great idea.

Do you ever think about DIYing your closet renovation, but you’re just not sure it’ll turn out the way you want?
This is where we found our recent client, Amanda, and her husband, Terry.
DIY Dreamers
The couple was in the middle of renovating their master bath when Amanda went down a Pinterest ‘rabbit hole.’
There in her endless scrolling, she was mesmerized by photos of beautiful master closets…efficient master closets…organized master closets…inspired master closets.
Amanda began thinking…If she and Terry were already redoing their master bath, it only made sense to renovate their ensuite closet at the same time.
They could even DIY it and save a little bit of money, too. Right?
Amanda took measurements, researched closet organization systems online, and prepared to become a closet DIY warrior.
But a little thought was holding her back.
It wasn’t that she didn’t think they could do it themselves.
Could they survive the stress of the renovation process?
What if they ended up hating the result?
What if they ended up hating each other in the process?
That’s when Amanda found us and decided to explore a different option.
A Professional Job – At the Same Price
Our Designer Felicity arrived for a consultation, worked up a complete closet renovation plan, explained our signature stress-free installation process, and gave the couple a price.
The number ended up rivaling the final DIY cost.
Amanda and Terry were sold (and relieved).
The couple’s professional closet renovation & end-to-end installation took place over just 2 days last summer.
They now have custom floor-to-ceiling closet organization – and new weight off of their shoulders that only comes with a clean, organized space.
We later returned to revamp their daughter Savannah’s closet a few weeks later.
Before you DIY your closet revamp, give us a quick call. We’d love to show you what we can do.

My concept for this kitchen was to collaborate with my client for this complete home renovation and ensure that the kitchen was the focal point of the open concept home. We strategically worked together to ensure proper wall dimensions, island placement and function, and symmetry to meet the wants and needs of my clients. White perimeter cabinetry helped to achieve a traditional feel for the space, while the gray stained island cabinetry allowed for a lovely transition to make the cozy kitchen work seamlessly with the distressed wide plank farmhouse style floating floor. In order to relieve the stark whiteness of the perimeter, I had suggested using contrast grout for the subway tile and the ultimate choice of cement tiles for the accent backsplash behind the range created a cathartic scene in this modestly stated design. Throw in some owls, books, and some fun pendant lighting and we were smiling through the finish line, together!!! My goal is to ensure that my client's needs are met and that their lives are improved through my designs. I hope you like the images of the new space!

Finishing touches on a landscape drainage project. Note the drain grate in the foreground between new sod pieces. This connects underground french drains running under the pavers which relieves side yard flooding. The paver path connects to the backyard side door so the trash cans can be easily moved to the curb.

Good design is making your product useful while achieving aesthetic excellence.
This is a custom raised kitchen we finished for a client who had recently dealt with a serious back surgery. This client wanted her countertops to rest higher than usual to relieve the strain of having to bend over when cooking or reaching inside her cabinets.
We built a custom 6” base to act as her “toe kick” for the cabinets. We then installed the provided IKEA cabinets with all of the bells and whistles. We then cut and rounded the bamboo countertop and finished with some wood sealer and polish. We finished with a white subway tile backsplash. For the floors a cork board floor was installed for a much softer feel when walking or standing.
