We went with a dark graphite tile that had a mix of texture on the walls and in the shower, but then anchored the space with white shiplap on the upper portion of the walls and a graphic floor tile (with mostly white and light gray tones). This technique of balancing dark tones with lighter tones is key to achieving those moody vibes, without creeping into cavernous territory. Subtle gray/blue/green tones on the vanity blend in well, but still pop in the space, and matte black fixtures add fantastic contrast to really finish off the whole look!

Our client's goal for this project was to update the kitchen without replacing the flooring and the cabinets. For a low cost but new look, we chose to refinish the cabinets. We used a glazing technique that completely transformed the look and feel of the cabinets. These great looking cabinets were further complemented by a gorgeous Saturnia Gold granite countertop. Unlike most granite, Saturnia Gold has a leathered finish. To compliment this finish, we chose a chiseled rough edge that makes all the difference. We also installed a new backsplash that is subtle but oh so elegant. We further made things sparkle with LED under cabinet lights. Finally, we installed all new stainless steel appliances. This was a very cost effective kitchen makeover that really enhanced our client's home.

A great kitchen with a spectacular view overlooking downtown Milwaukee had one little tiny problem - boring cabinets. Not to worry, we have lots of great ideas! We spiced things up with fresh new cabinet doors and drawer fronts using Creamy Zebrano Exotic wood veneer. Why does it look so cool you ask? The technique is called "Book Matching". A term used in woodworking. Meaning: (in our world) all the lines of the veneer line up from one cabinet to the next. It creates a uniform, super custom look of symmetry from cabinet to cabinet. Take a closer look and you will notice the pattern. We did make some modifications to these cabinets too. We added new spice pullouts, replaced doors with drawers, new waste and recycling bins - all making this spectacular kitchen more efficient and updated with modern storage amenities. From SinglePoint Design Build: “This project consisted of a full exterior removal and replacement of the siding, windows, doors, and roof. In so, the Architects OXB Studio, re-imagined the look of the home by changing the siding materials, creating privacy for the clients at their front entry, and making the expansive decks more usable. We added some beautiful cedar ceiling cladding on the interior as well as a full home solar with Tesla batteries. The Shou-sugi-ban siding is our favorite detail. While the modern details were extremely important, waterproofing this home was of upmost importance given its proximity to the San Francisco Bay and the winds in this location. We used top of the line waterproofing professionals, consultants, techniques, and materials throughout this project. This project was also unique because the interior of the home was mostly finished so we had to build scaffolding with shrink wrap plastic around the entire 4 story home prior to pulling off all the exterior finishes. We are extremely proud of how this project came out!”
