The first thing you notice about this property is the stunning views of the mountains, and our clients wanted to showcase this. We selected pieces that complement and highlight the scenery. Our clients were in love with their brown leather couches, so we knew we wanted to keep them from the beginning. This was the focal point for the selections in the living room, and we were able to create a cohesive, rustic, mountain-chic space. The home office was another critical part of the project as both clients work from home. We repurposed a handmade table that was made by the client’s family and used it as a double-sided desk. We painted the fireplace in a gorgeous green accent to make it pop. Finding the balance between statement pieces and statement views made this project a unique and incredibly rewarding experience. A restorated exterior window is repurposed to a provide a dramatic view of the vaulted living room and signature GeoBarns cupola from this home office

This urban infill project is a make-over of a decrepit structure that had been used as a student rental for close to 50 years. Situated on an elevated, 3300 sf lot, nothing in the original house was salvageable and the entire house was stripped down to the studs. Our challenge with this project was to then open up the original interiors, flood them with natural light while creating a design that appealed to the broadest buyer pool possible. We solved this problem by organizing a compact floor plan that resulted in a 4 bedroom, 4 bath residence organized around a great room on the main level, a family room on the basement level and an additional 2 bedrooms with city views on the upper. By minimizing circulation space, we were able to re-purpose every square foot of floor area while creating a dramatic, light-filled staircase that tied all 3 levels of the house together into a unified living scheme. Clean lines and clean details, this is another of our attempts at a 'Not So Big House.' Marketing of the final product lasted less than 10 days and resulted in 3 full priced offers that netted the developer a tidy profit.

A rejuvenation project of the entire first floor of approx. 1700sq. The kitchen was completely redone and redesigned with relocation of all major appliances, construction of a new functioning island and creating a more open and airy feeling in the space. A "window" was opened from the kitchen to the living space to create a connection and practical work area between the kitchen and the new home bar lounge that was constructed in the living space. New dramatic color scheme was used to create a "grandness" felling when you walk in through the front door and accent wall to be designated as the TV wall. The stairs were completely redesigned from wood banisters and carpeted steps to a minimalistic iron design combining the mid-century idea with a bit of a modern Scandinavian look. The old family room was repurposed to be the new official dinning area with a grand buffet cabinet line, dramatic light fixture and a new minimalistic look for the fireplace with 3d white tiles.

The mirror reflects the light from the backyard and gives everyone a nice view of the room. The corner fireplace will eventually get a redesign. Until then, we painted the mantel surround to relate to the new floating shelves around the TV.

HISTORIC HIGH STREET Steeped in history and known well among Ipswich residents, this once dilapidated structure awaited preservation and renovation. The result is this beautifully renovated antique 1810 Colonial featuring new construction from the original timber frame. Custom design captures the character of yesterday with today's amenities. Kitchen highlights: black honed granite; bead board paneling; farmer's sink; crown molding; soft close cabinets; gas range; high-end fixtures; island; & stainless steel, energy efficient appliances. Cozy up in the living room beside the gas fireplace with the original mantel, complimented by custom built-in cabinets where the home's original paneling was repurposed. The master suite features walk-in closet; custom shower with frameless glass shower door, and white carrara marble. The second bath houses the laundry room. A combination of white and red oak, Antique Oak Hit Skip flooring is characterized by a mixture of original distressed surfaces and revealed smooth surfaces, original nail holes, sound cracks, checking, wormholes. It presents a variety of rustic colorations and surfaces, with varying grain patterns and tight knot structure. All white oak or all red oak available upon request.

From CDK Architects: This is a new home that replaced an existing 1949 home in Rosedale. The design concept for the new house is “Mid Century Modern Meets Modern.” This is clearly a new home, but we wanted to give reverence to the neighborhood and its roots. It was important to us to re-purpose the old home. Rather than demolishing it, we worked with our contractor to disassemble the house piece by piece, eventually donating about 80% of the home to Habitat for Humanity. The wood floors were salvaged and reused on the new fireplace wall. The home contains 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, plus a home office and a music studio, totaling 2,650 square feet. One of the home’s most striking features is its large vaulted ceiling in the Living/Dining/Kitchen area. Substantial clerestory windows provide treetop views and bring dappled light into the space from high above. There’s natural light in every room in the house. Balancing the desire for natural light and privacy was very important, as was the connection to nature. What we hoped to achieve was a fun, flexible home with beautiful light and a nice balance of public and private spaces. We also wanted a home that would adapt to a growing family but would still fit our needs far into the future. The end result is a home with a calming, organic feel to it. This complete home remodel was complete by taking the early 1990's home and bringing it into the new century with opening up interior walls between the kitchen, dining, and living space, remodeling the living room/fireplace kitchen, guest bathroom, creating a new master bedroom/bathroom floor plan, and creating an outdoor space for any sized party!
